Kapitel 353: Brainwashed Machines!
These kingdom representatives, whose ambitions had just begun to take root, failed to realize that strong individuals like Nicholas were beyond their control. If they truly had someone as powerful as Nicholas under their command, they would face two possible outcomes: either having their heads twisted off for not knowing their place, or being gracefully stripped of all power and left to live out their days as complacent pigs.
On the other side, the Holy Land guards and CP members rushing to Pangea City's Social Plaza from all directions were not to be underestimated. While they might not be as formidable as the masked agents or CP0, they were certainly more capable than pirates with bounties over tens of millions. Those qualified to arrive at this battleground generally knew at least one of the Six Powers, specifically Moonwalk, which allowed them to reach the scene quickly.
Not to mention the CP0 members in white robes, who had been brainwashed and trained since childhood, embodying the elite of the CP. For them, the Six Powers were ingrained in their very bones.
With Nicholas and Dragon reappearing, these forces quickly realized that their commanders had failed. It was now their turn to fulfill the mission etched into their minds since childhood: to sacrifice themselves for the Celestial Dragons and the Holy Land of Mariejois.
Bang! Bang! Bang…!
Suddenly, the sound of countless footsteps treading on air filled the surroundings. The Holy Land guards and CP members all used Moonwalk to soar into the air, charging towards Nicholas and Dragon.
The white shockwaves from their powerful steps in the air resembled thousands of firecrackers, spread across the sky.
"This..."
Seeing hundreds of enemies using Moonwalk to rush towards them, even the well-traveled Dragon couldn't hide his surprise. As a former top navy candidate, he knew that the Six Powers were techniques only the elite could master. Although he had spread them among the Revolutionary Army, few could truly master them.
Who would have thought that so many Holy Land guards and CP members, who seemed common in the Holy Land, could use the Six Powers?
Even if many had only mastered Moonwalk, it was still shocking. The Six Powers were martial arts that surpassed human limits, and the prerequisite to learning them was already beyond the capabilities of over ninety-nine percent of the population.
Is this the foundation of Mariejois?
Dragon was deeply shaken. His goal in forming the Revolutionary Army was to change the world, which meant that no matter how many tyrannical kings and nobles he overthrew, it would all be in vain if the World Government and the Celestial Dragons were not toppled. The strength displayed by Mariejois indicated that his path would be exceptionally difficult.
In reality, Dragon was overthinking it. The high combat readiness of the Holy Land guards was due to Nicholas's previous assault on Mariejois. After that attack, the Celestial Dragons, feeling insecure, had called upon the Five Elders to summon elite forces from other parts of the Red Line and the skies of West Peak to defend Mariejois.
Given that the Red Line encircles the world, it made sense that the elite troops summoned from various locations would perform well. Apart from the navy, the World Government also commanded formidable land and air forces, even though their presence was usually less pronounced.
The sound of air explosions from the Moonwalkers echoed below. In the sky above the Social Plaza, a piercing hum was heard, and bright lightning flashed continuously, illuminating everyone's faces.
"Hmm?!"
What the Holy Land guards and CP0 saw was the divine-like figure of Nicholas. Violent, annihilating lightning coiled around his upraised right hand, radiating an unsettling energy.
"Annihilation."
As Nicholas's arm swung down, thunder roared across the sky. Countless lightning bolts tore through the air, descending upon the Holy Land guards and CP0 with terrifying speed.
How fast is lightning?
The guards and CP0 at the front were struck before they could react. By the time their nerves registered the searing pain, the thunderous roar finally reached their ears.
Like mosquitoes swatted by an electric racket, the guards and CP0 fell from the sky like dumplings into soup. Those with Observation Haki might have sensed the danger but couldn't react in time to dodge in mid-air.
On the ground, the allied nation representatives who had been preparing to flee were drawn back by the commotion above. Seeing the guards and CP0, even those in white-robed CP0 uniforms, fall from the sky, their faces showed brief astonishment before they attempted to run.
But before they could move, the intense lightning from above engulfed them.
When the lightning faded, the plaza was littered with incapacitated guards and CP members. Though their physical prowess had spared their lives, their bodies bore clear burn marks.
Witnessing this, the remaining guards and CP members, despite their shock at Nicholas's overwhelming power, did not retreat. They were the Holy Land's shield, and retreat was not in their vocabulary. As long as they could bring their weapons to the invaders, they would press forward over the corpses of their comrades without hesitation.
Though thousands had been felled by Nicholas in a single strike, many more guards and CP members continued their relentless assault. Their indoctrination since childhood left them no choice but to eliminate any threat to the Celestial Dragons and the World Government's authority.
The CP0 elites were especially fearless, leading the charge against Nicholas and Dragon.
"They've really been brainwashed thoroughly..." Nicholas sensed the determination and resolve of the guards and CP0 elites. Considering the resources spent to mold them into fighting machines, it made sense. Years of indoctrination from a young age resulted in loyal warriors.
Nicholas thought back to Rob Lucci, who was likely sidelined not for killing 500 kingdom soldiers as a child but for failing to follow orders precisely, something the World Government couldn't tolerate. Otherwise, Lucci's talent and power should have secured him a place in CP0 long ago, instead of wasting five years in Water 7.
"Let's show them the reality with our strength."
Seeing the relentless guards and CP members, Dragon's expression turned serious. These thoroughly brainwashed soldiers couldn't be changed, so it was better to eliminate them here and reduce future threats for the Revolutionary Army.
