"So?" Marcus smacked his lips, changing the topic so Fil wouldn't feel so awkward anymore. "What is this, by the way?"
Marcus moved the item she purchased just now. "You seemed too secretive when buying it."
"Right." Fil hummed for a moment, still hearing Valerie's voice while talking to the staff. Valerie sounded offended and was now berating the staff.
"Since it seemed we're stuck here, I guess I'll just give it to you now." Fil offered the paper bag back to him. "It's for you."
"For me?" he repeated, and she nodded, accepting the paper bag with furrowed brows. "Is this a repayment for the earrings?"
"It's not a repayment since the earrings are surely ten times more expensive," she shrugged. "You gave me a gift. So I have to return the favor. Didn't I tell you before? I don't like owing people. I liked settling scores as soon as I could."
