Somewhere, far away from anyone's sight, a being was shivering in pain. Their whole body was quivering in pain. The flame that was burning the game's system was agonizing them.
'Alastor!'
They called, fully intending to curse the young man but stopping midway. There was no use in doing that.
Alastor was not meant to have any hardships from their side, yet.
They withstood the pain while glaring viciously at Alastor's figure. They vowed to take revenge for this pain, no matter how long it took.
Alastor on the other hand waited until the lecture was done before slipping away from the hall. He mused as he observed the Academy he was in, 'I suppose there is no more help from that screen after what I've done. But oh well, their help was flawed either way.'
First of all, it was not his style. Alastor would not like receiving that kind of cheap help. But that was not the end of it.
Just as those names appeared in front of him, he noticed something was wrong.
'Their stats were not matching their background.'
A quick glance was all it took. Something was amiss. And something massive at that. Alastor could have fallen into a dirty pit if he followed.
'Was that a test? Or some kind of additional difficulty to said missions?'
Pushing his long, dark blue hair back, Alastor observed his surroundings. He was now in some sort of Academy, and based on their strength and display of power, they were mastering magic here.
'Quite lucky, if I may say.'
That was his specialty, since he was born, he was a monstrous genius that made everyone fear his potential.
Dark, Holy, Ice, Water, Fire, Wind, and many other elements were very simple to master in his hold. Which meant the first mission would be easy.
However, he noticed something strange about his body. He was handsome, his appearance matching his previous life. Yet, somehow no one had acknowledged that. If anything, they had looked at him in disgust rather than admiration.
'Weird,' he silently thought while moving between the corridors.
Taking a long tour around the Academy made Alastor clear most of his doubts and yet have many more problems to solve.
"Ha. For now, I suppose asking about my room's location would weird people out. I assume I'd need to go alone and search."
The scenario of opening some people's rooms by mistake was a bit… Not to his liking, but building a suspicious behavior with what he found out about his current body was bad.
The chattering in the dorms' corridors stopped once he stepped there, making him realize something. He was not a simple student, he actually may not be living here.
That was a dilemma.
His only chance was now to pretend he was looking for someone. Thankfully, Alastor did not lack luck.
A familiar face stood up amidst the fearful and disgusted faces, with silky silver hair and bright eyes staring right at him.
Ignoring all of the gazes that were aimed at him, he approached her. His hand was soon extended in front of them, asking for her hand.
"Welcome, Arisa."
The girl forced herself to not smile, she felt pretty proud of herself as she put her hand in his hold. Despite the nasty rumors, she wanted to receive the attention of this bad boy.
"Hi! Glad to meet you, Alastor! I've heard quite a few things about you!"
The people around them grimaced and flinched, someone could not even hold themselves and came from between the crowd.
"Princess," The title made Alastor more sure about the girl's identity, "He is not a good guy to hang around with. He is criminal, your highness shouldn't-"
"Cut it."
"But, Princess!"
"Are you talking back to me?"
Arisa, the Princess of the Marjin Empire that this Academy was located at, simply waved her off. So what if he was a criminal?
'Stupid, that is exactly why I am here!'
As the princess, she was tied into her castle and bound to her boring duties. But Alastor's existence was her way out of that boredom.
A naughty little Daredevil was lurking under their imperial family's influence, his crimes were known yet without any evidence, they were as good as groundless slander.
Alastor was not ignorant towards that.
If the game was just as he expected, then this little princess would be a small hurdle in his way. It was sweet, she was so innocent and thought she was smart–
Maybe against the previous Alastor, not the current Alastor. This Alastor not only did not do those crimes, he knew how to hide them while slowly taking hold of this princess.
"Your Highness, the Third Princess, Arisa."
Hearing her name being called so lowly and sweetly along with her title made her snap her attention to him. Arisa noticed his appearance and smiled, this man was truly charming and dangerous.
"Yes, Alastor? That reminds me, I never thought you'd approach me first," her eyes narrowed into a crescent shape while watching him kiss the back of her hand.
Dangerous or not, charming or not, all fell under the Imperial Family's influence. No matter how brave they would act.
'Their fate was to always bow down to their Queen.'
Alastor then hooked his arm with her and slowly guided her outside, going back to his dorm was something that could wait. Pleasing this haughty princess and paralyzing her to be under his control, however, was not.
"Alastor, why are you taking me outside?"
She received no answer, just a smile as she was taken toward a blue garden.
The center of it was a lovely mixture of gold and purple, those were of a unique type that was yet to be discovered in this world according to what Alastor observed.
Arisa may have been angry at Alastor's silence, but his attitude as a gentleman as he pulled the chair for her and even prepared some tea for her eased her nerves.
Still, she was insistent on getting a real answer from him.
"Now, enough of those games, spit out why you decided to approach me."
As much as she was driven here by her boredom, Arisa was still a princess. She could distinguish between genuine act and tricky act, Alastor could not trick her.
Or so she thought.
