Kapitel 12: Sharingan

Jake knew he couldn't hold anything back; he had to go all out from the start and hope that would be enough to defeat his opponent.

Bruce was very angry, easily visible on his face.

When the director signaled the start, Jake shot out.

Jake threw a kick that was easily blocked by Bruce, but a second kick came immediately from another angle.

With his Sharingan activated to its full power, Jake saw Bruce's hand muscles twitch for a second and predicted he was trying to grab him.

Immediately, he supported both hands on the ground and, taking momentum, kicked Bruce's arms and moved away at the same time.

First clash: a tie.

Jake took a deep breath and began to feel that challenging Bruce wasn't one of his best ideas.

The audience held their breath witnessing their first clash.

Jake's eyes suddenly moved, and he lowered his head. Shortly after, Bruce appeared with his fist extended.

Taking advantage of his opponent's obvious surprise, Jake threw a punch that landed on Bruce's stomach.

Bruce, upon seeing this, joined both hands and threw a downward punch, trying to hit Jake's back. However, the Sharingan could see it, and Jake quickly ducked and tried to trip him with a kick to the ground.

Bruce missed his punch, but he didn't want to give Jake time to recover, so he ran after him and tried to kick him.

But Jake dodged it and even spun on the ground and with his spin gained momentum and with his legs tried to trip Bruce, but he was fast enough to retreat, giving Jake the opportunity to flip back to his feet and look seriously at Bruce.

Both stared at each other for a few seconds before running towards each other at the same time.

They engaged in close combat. While Bruce threw a punch, Jake dodged or deflected it to counterattack with his own punches.

Whether with fists, elbows, palms, knees, or legs, Jake tried to stand firm against Bruce, and he did.

Jake fought with a base style very similar to boxing but was actually very unpredictable. Sometimes he suddenly attacked with his elbow aimed at Bruce's thighs or even attacked with his legs in a rare taekwondo style.

Although Jake's style was rare and unpredictable, it seemed agile or even elegant compared to Bruce's, which was very marked and conservative.

Both gave a lesson in what truly was hand-to-hand combat.

The spectators were fascinated and shocked to see such an exhibition of what seemed more like art than a fight.

Slowly, Jake felt himself getting tired and soon wouldn't be able to keep up with Bruce, so he thought about going all out.

Jake took a few steps back and, taking a deep breath, looked at Bruce with a lot of emotion and said, "It's time to give it all!"

Bruce himself was also excited when he nodded, confirming Jake's intentions.

At first, he was angry with Jake because he thought he was an arrogant brat who had no clear idea of his place and was trying to gain notoriety through such a ridiculous challenge.

But as the fight progressed, he realized that Jake was no arrogant brat and could even consider him a worthy rival.

Bruce threw a punch that was blocked by Jake's forearm, who then turned around and hit his face with the back of his fists. Bruce tried to take advantage of Jake's exposed back, but he seemed to have eyes on his back as he ducked and tried to trip him with a kick to the ground.

The fight continued, but this time neither of them held back in terms of their own stamina consumption, making the fight much faster and more frantic.

Any mistake made by either of them could be fatal. If Jake couldn't foresee Bruce's attacks in time and dodge them, he was completely lost. And if likewise, Bruce made a mistake, Jake was sure to counterattack with a variety of combos that wouldn't let him catch his breath.

The first to make a mistake lost.

And the first soon appeared... It was Bruce.

Jake attacked as usual at his feet, and Bruce jumped. But it was all just a feint from Jake who used his hands to propel himself and give him a very strong kick to the chin.

Bruce was bewildered for a few seconds that Jake took advantage of to give him a beating and jump on him.

He knew his stamina didn't give for much more, and he wanted to finish it once and for all.

The muscles of his back, arms, and hands contracted, and veins began to be visible.

[Tiger Descending the Mountain]

This was the strongest blow of the martial art [Tiger Fist] as he had said before; it was all or nothing.

When Jake's hands descended, they didn't manage to hit anything.

Jake's eyes widened as he saw Bruce twisting in the air in a way that was anything but natural; he looked like a noodle or a snake.

The fact was, he dodged Jake's blow.

Bruce's arm gained momentum and moved like a whip that hit Jake's face and sent him flying across the gym almost to the point of reaching the wall.

The crowd immediately became noisy.

"Boneless Jujutsu?"

"Incredible! It was a great battle, and I have it all on video!"

"That guy Jake is a tough nut to crack. Bruce had to resort to a Class C martial art to win."

"The most incredible thing is that guy only has 0.7 life force."

"It's true; I almost forgot from his fighting style with Bruce."

The most excited of all were Jake's classmates who jumped for joy. In the last combo when everything seemed like he was going to win and ended up losing made the whole class sigh a bit disappointed, but at the same time admiring the excellent fight he had given.

"This isn't over yet," a gruff voice sounded, silencing all voices.

All the screens in the school showed Jake slowly getting up, holding his face. But through the gap between his fingers, his red eyes could be seen shining, and the comma in his eyes began to rotate slowly so that before everyone's eyes, a new comma appeared in each of his eyes.

"In fact, it's just beginning," Jake said, still looking at Bruce with his eyes fixed.

The gymnasium filled with tension again.

"That's all," the director intervened. "Bruce is the winner. If you want to challenge him again, try it another time."
