"All sorts of things." Erin said slowly and shurgged as she replied. She stared into the small heap of crystals, and her gaze deepened. Her expression became solemn as if she started to recall a distant memory.
The glow of the crystals cast a halo against her dim face and Huey listened to the silence, in thought.
Eventually, he said.
"What do you think karma is?"
"What?" Erin blurted, clearly confused and taken aback.
She raised her head and glanced at Huey curiously. In her eyes there was also a hint of worry.
Huey's expression twitched as he forced a crooked smile.
"Can you not look at me that way?"
Erin shook her head sympathetically and sighed with emotion.
"Can't be helped. You been asking some pretty strange things."
"Just answer." Huey clicked his tongue.
