As Grace turned the corner, she was surprised to find Jace in the corridor. She darted her eyes around and was relieved to see that Lisa was no longer in sight.
If she had delayed a bit they would have met and that was the last thing she wanted. She didn't want her getting anywhere near Jace or letting her have a clue to the state of things between them.
She was sure after the threat she had received, Lisa will think twice before showing up anywhere around her. Even if it was only for the next one month, it was enough until she was able to sort things out with her mother.
"What are you doing out here, babe? Weren't you supposed to be with your mom?" Jace asked as soon as she was within earshot.
"Stepped out for a sec. Needed to deal with something," Grace said while still darting her eyes around.
"Your sister, I suppose," Jace said.
Grace was taken aback. "How did you know?"
