Grace nodded, still looking a bit uncertain. "Alright."
As he went back into the house, Caden followed the direction Jace had taken with a wry smile on his face.
He knew his brother well enough to see through his facade.
Jace might not be ready to admit it, but Caden was certain of one thing: his brother had feelings for Grace, whether he wanted to acknowledge them or not.
While the two brothers proceeded to meet their father at the study, Grace went off to the garden. She had found a spot there for herself that she would retreat to when ever she felt pressured about something and that was exactly how she felt with the elderly man around.
She would have preferred to lock herself up in her room, but she felt confined which did little to relieve the tension in her heart.
She felt the sudden visit from the elders would affect her one way or the other but she had no clue how.
