Paige's eyes flashed with anger as Nolan's words cut deep. She was not having it with his total run down, playing the victim. How dare he question her happiness when he had destroyed hers? She took a step closer, her eyes narrowed as Nolan's words dripped with condescension. She smiled sweetly, her voice dripping with venom.

"Oh, Nolan, how quaint. You think you can question my happiness? You, who know nothing about what truly makes me happy?"

She took a step closer, her heels clicking on the floor.

"Let me tell you, darling. I'm marrying Clinton because he adores me, because he loves me for who I am. Not like you, who only loved yourself."

Nolan's face paled, but Paige didn't flinch.

"And this dress? This shop? I chose them because they're exquisite, because they make me feel like the queen I am. Not because I'm trying to prove anything to you."
