After that, I made my way to the Pokemon Center in the city.
'Even though I looked all around the S.S. Anne, I didn't get the fishing rod.'
'I remember getting it somewhere around here, So I thought it must be on the ship, but I guess I was wrong.'
'If it is not on the ship, then it should be somewhere around the city. Guess I'll have to look around the city for the fisherman.'
Soon, I reached the Pokemon Center. After healing the Pokemon, I started looking for the fisherman. Surprisingly I didn't have to go far, as I found the fisherman in the house right next to the Pokemon Center.
"I'm the Fishing Guru. I simply looove fishing. I can't bear to go without."
"Tell me, do you like to fish?" asked the Fishing Guru.
[<Yes> <No>]
Pressing <Yes>,
"Grand! I like your style. I think we can be friends."
"Take this and fish, young friend." said the Fishing Guru as he took out and handed me an old and worn-out fishing rod.

"Fishing is a way of life. It is like the finest poetry."
"From the seas to rivers, go out and land the big one, my friend." said the Fishing Guru.
After getting the fishing rod, I exited his house.
'Now, The only things left for me to do are to defeat the Gym leader and to catch 18 Pokemon.'
"Crap, I forgot to get the small tree quest for the small tree blocking the gym."
Remembering my blunder, I quickly looked around for the gym.
While looking for the gym, I came across an old man who was using his Machop to tamp the land to lay the foundation for a building.
I also saw a sign that read:

Not far from the sign, I found the Poke Mart where I chose to stop and buy some Poke Balls for my next task.
Since I had a lot of money saved, I chose to buy 50 Poke Balls which cost me ₽10,000.
I also bought 4 Parlyz Heal since I'll be fighting a gym leader who specializes in Electric-Type Pokemon. The Paralyze Heal cost me ₽1,200 in total.

After taking a look at the contents of my backpack, I exited the Poke Mart and continued my search for the Gym.
Soon enough, I was in front of the 'Vermilion City' Gym which was surrounded by water from three sides. The only side that was not water was barricaded with fences, and only a small section was left, which was blocked by a small tree.
I moved towards the small tree and did the same thing I did in the 'Cerulean City' which was to get past the small tree without cutting it.
And it seemed like my worries were for nothing as I was blocked by the red barrier and a notification appeared just after.

'Now, I just need to teach one of my Pokemon <Cut>, and I'll be able to complete the quest.'
Taking out the HM - Cut from the backpack and looking at its information.
[HM - Cut : The Target is cut with a scythe or a claw. It can also be used to cut down thin trees.]

Pressing on the use button, a window appears showing which of my Pokemon can learn this move.

'It sure is convenient to know which Pokemon can learn the move and which one can't. Imagine using a precious TM on a Pokemon just to find out that the Pokemon can't learn the move and you just wasted your TM.'
Currently, only two of my Pokemon can learn the move <Cut>, and both of them are my main Pokemon whose move pool contains moves that are very important for future battles.
'I can't replace any of their move with <Cut>, maybe I should teach <Cut> to some other Pokemon.' just as I thought of that, I remembered the three Oddish that I caught.
'I can teach <Cut> to Oddish and use it only for his purpose.'
I quickly made my way back to the Pokemon Center and switched Cefairy with one of the Oddish that I had in my PC Box.
After switching, I used the HM - Cut on the Oddish, and unexpectedly it didn't ask to replace a move. Then I noticed that this Oddish only knew 3 moves before I used the HM.
After teaching <Cut> to the Oddish, It is time to collect the rewards of the quests.
After halfway through the Pokemon Center, I turned back and went to the PC to switch another one of my Pokemon.
'I am exhausted from all the battles and walking in the S.S. Anne, and I don't feel like challenging the gym today.'
So, what am I going to do if I am not going to challenge the Gym? Well, I'll go back to the 'Cerulean City' to complete the quest and exchange the Bike Voucher.
All right, but you may think what does going back to the 'Cerulean City' as to do with me switching another one of my Pokemon?
Well, I happen to have a Pokemon that can save me a lot of time as I would only need to make a one-way trip to the 'Cerulean City'.
What about returning back to the 'Vermilion City'? I can use the Pokemon to return back to 'Vermilion City'.
The Pokemon, Abra, and his one and only move <Teleport>.
<Teleport> is a move when used in a Pokemon battle will switch out the user, but when used outside of a Pokemon Battle, it will warp the user to the last Pokemon Center.
This means as long as I don't enter the Pokemon Center in 'Cerulean City' then I can use <Teleport> to instantly return back to the Pokemon Center in 'Vermilion City'.
This will save me a lot of time and energy.
So I switched Hoothoot with the Abra that I previously caught.
After that, I exited the Pokemon Center and headed to the Gym.
I reached the Gym in no time. After reaching, I moved up to the small tree.
[This tree looks like it can be CUT down!]

As I did, notifications appeared in front of me asking me whether I wanted to cut the small tree or not.
I pressed <Yes>, and another notification appeared.
[The effect of this action is permanent and will affect the quests of other players.]

A new window appeared asking me to confirm my choice.
'What does 'effect of this action is permanent' mean? Will the other players not have to cut down the small tree if I cut it?'
'As for the quest, it must be because if I cut down the small tree then no one else would receive the quest to cut down the small tree and also if anyone already received the quest then they will fail.'
Looking at the window, I pressed <Yes>.
[Oddish used <Cut>]
A notification appeared as the Oddish came out of his Poke Ball and using his leaves cut down the small tree.
Right after cutting down the small tree, Oddish went back into his Poke Ball.

The notification of quest clearance appeared as I cut down the small tree. Along with the notification, a small golden box appeared in my hand.
Looking at the box, I checked its information.
[Random Box : Contains random things, Open it to receive what's inside.]
After looking at the information of the Random Box, I tried to open it.
[Do you wish to open the Random Box?]

I pressed <Yes>, and the small box burst into golden light and disappeared as a notification appeared.
