The opening ceremony lasted for over thirty minutes, and it wasn't until a few school leaders had spoken that it finally ended. The few remaining minutes of the second period combined with the twenty minutes for the exercise break meant there was almost a thirty-minute rest period.

When they left the ceremony, Xiu Xi carried a stool in each hand, not allowing her to lift a finger.

Once back in the classroom, Ruan Jiaojiao just collapsed onto her desk and began to doze off, sleeping straight through to the third period.

The first official class of the morning was math.

The math teacher was a man in his forties, kind-faced and gentle-voiced.
