"There is no need for you to be upset because of my words, Inez," Carcel hypocritically smiled at her. "I just want to do what is best for us as well as the Senate. You do understand how these loose ends can end up causing us a lot of trouble, right? We are lucky that this man only wants Nicolai to marry his daughter and nothing else."
"Think about it, what would have happened if this man had gone to the police?"
"Then he would have found his head detached from his body, wouldn't he?"
Carcel's eyes widened as he wheeled around and looked at the man who stood behind him.
"Nicolai, what are you doing here?" He snapped at the man harshly.
"Funnily enough, this is my house," Nicolai smiled at the man. He stepped inside the office, towering over Mister Harlow, who shrank his shoulders when he realised and saw the man whom he was supposed to blackmail.
