On the other side at the front of the apartment building, a well-built man was leaning on his inconspicuous car.
His bloodshot red eyes were locked on the main iron gates, at the same time he was eyeing the security guard with a hint of distaste in his eyes.
"You are lucky that I am not in the mood of spilling blood today," he said to the man who shivered.
The security guard turned his gaze away from Nicolai and stated, "I am just trying to do my job, sir. You are not the resident of the apartment. Without the key or the permission of the apartment owner, I cannot let you in."
"Hah!" Nicolai snorted with a sneer playing on his lips. "Is calling the police on me also a part of your duty?"
"Yes, it is, sir. I am a security guard! This is my job, surely you ought to know this right?"
Nicolai's sneer widened even more as he shrugged and said, "I don't know. Usually, it's others who need security when I am present."
