Kapitel 306: She wished for her death

The world was still intact? No, this was not right. It shouldn't be intact. It should have crashed and burned leaving nothing behind.

Similarly to how her dreams and hopes were crumbling, this world should have burned itself to the ground.

Because at that moment, Ariel did feel as if her heart had stopped beating. Her eyes moved to the clock on the wall that was running without a pause, and she clenched her fingers.

The hours of the clock were still running and so was the world and the ringing alarm that she was hearing had little to do with the world. Most probably it was related to the fear that was coursing in her veins like a second blood.

Ariel drew in a breath and turned to look at Noah. The man was eerily calm, there was no tinge of surprise on his face as he continued to sip on his wine without making a sound.

All of a sudden, Ariel recognized the signs that she had been skipping or ignoring all evening.
