As the room fell into a palpable silence, Carissa's voice sliced through the tension, her tone defiant. "Why would I sleep with your brother, Nikki?"

Nanny Rita's brow furrowed with uncertainty as she observed the exchange between the two women. Nikki's gaze shifted from Carissa to Nanny Rita before she delivered her sharp reply. "Because you're Carissa. You'd do anything to cling to my brother, especially now that he's wealthy and you're destitute."

Carissa bristled at Nikki's accusation, her anger simmering beneath the surface. "I'm not a whore," she retorted firmly.

Nikki's smirk widened, stoking Carissa's fury. "You've always been a whore," she spat.

Despite the insult, Carissa remained composed, her voice steady. "David and I have no relationship beyond our professional roles. I'm his personal assistant, and he's my boss."
