The living room was filled with silence, and you could hear a pin drop. Valerie's mind was in a mess as she stared at the man downstairs.

Then her gaze shifted to that of Alpha Denzel. It was blank. There was no emotion on his face, but she knew he was hurting. Without a word, she spun around and ran back to the room she came out from.
