Kapitel 27: Bringing another toy with you?

Pierce led the way, his steps purposeful despite the evident pain in his shoulder. I trailed behind, still processing the whirlwind of events. "Where are we going?" I asked, my voice barely above a murmur.

He didn't respond at first, his focus seemingly on the path ahead. People on the street gave us wary glances, but Pierce paid them no mind. I repeated my question, a bit louder this time.

Stopping abruptly, Pierce turned to me. "I have a car parked nearby," he said, his voice gruff. He seemed to be struggling to keep his composure.

I hesitated, my mind racing with doubts. "Oh no, I'm not getting into your car," I said, a mix of fear and defiance in my voice.

Pierce's gaze was cold and unreadable. "I received an anonymous tip," he revealed, "That's how I knew you were in trouble."
