-Chapter 120-

-Chapter 120-

-POV MC-

The two rushed at each other as soon as I gave the signal, Oberyn with grace and agility, while Gregor Clegane favored strength and ferocity.

Oberyn Martell used the length of his spear to keep Gregor Clegane at a distance while bombarding him with light blows to wear down the giant's stamina.

'With the advice I gave to this hound, I hope he will win quickly,' I thought.

---

-POV Oberyn Martell-

I noticed that my attacks only reached his shield, the bastard.

It only took a moment of distraction for this hound to catch me off guard and counterattack.

He swung his sword from top to bottom towards me, and I used my spear to guide his sword's motion to the left, using the wooden part of my spear to strike his head. The blow landed precisely on his helmet, which was thrown to the ground by the force of my blow.

I noticed he seemed stunned, so I kept the pressure on, I thrust forward with the tip of the spear, and managed to slash his cheek.

'Had he not dodged, I would have pierced his throat, but whatever happens, he is dead,' I thought.

---

-POV Aegon Blackfyre-

Gagged and on my knees, I watched my uncle fight for me and risk his life, even though everyone thought I was a progeny of the female lineage of the Blackfyres, he had never doubted and had defended me against all others.

From the start of the fight, Gregor Clegane, known for his easily irritable temperament, did not get flustered; he continued to block the various attacks of my uncle. Suddenly, my uncle managed to knock off his helmet with a heavy blow, which also left him stunned.

The Mountain dodged the next spear thrusts from my uncle with his sword, not without some damage, leaving a deep scar from the bottom of his right cheek to his nose.

Gregor Clegane, surprised by these lightning-fast attacks, took a step back and then said something I couldn't hear from where I was.

The mockery he hurled at my uncle had the desired effect as the latter, enraged, intensified his attacks on the giant whose strength and stamina were visibly diminishing.

The Mountain continued to dodge and then suddenly went on the counterattack; he broke my uncle's spear and then charged him unarmed.

'No,' I screamed internally.

My uncle, visibly surprised, tried to grab a dagger from his belt, but the knee of this monster blocked my uncle's wrist, who was visibly suffering from the weight of the mad dog who had raped my mother before killing her.

'Oberyn Martell, lying on his back, unable to continue fighting under the weight of Gregor Clegane, was defeated by the man who had murdered and raped his sister,'

'That's what history will remember,' I thought painfully.

I felt tears streaming down my face as I turned my eyes toward my bastard brother, the bastard who wanted to humiliate us until the end, the symbol that was what turned him on, the twisted one.

As my uncle had challenged him and his shitty authority, he wanted to humiliate him, he wanted it so badly that he was ready to turn a blind eye to the monstrous acts of this monster.

I screamed, even though I knew he couldn't hear me over the cheers of the sheepish crowd he ruled over.

I wanted him to hear the hatred I felt toward him.

By miracle or not, he turned his gaze toward me at the same moment and then, as if I were nothing, his attention turned to the Mountain, who was waiting for some reason while looking at the king's box.

---

-POV MC-

"I beg you, Aegon, I beg you, I've never asked you for anything but I beg you, don't kill him," Arianne whispered with tears streaming from her beautiful eyes.

I was deeply divided on what to do next, I didn't want him to get away but I didn't want to create a grudge with the Dornish.

I tapped my finger on my armrest weighing the pros and cons and then I stood up and addressed everyone.

"Prince Oberyn has opposed the Crown and will now pay the price. I have long hesitated on the punishment I would impose on him but ultimately it is up to you, my people, to decide whether this traitor and the last Blackfyre should live, if they should continue to exist as living obstacles to my ideal... the peace and prosperity of this kingdom."

Although everyone seemed surprised by my decision, they all applauded together. I could feel the confusion, so I raised my hand and continued:

"If you want to spare these traitors lives, raise your thumb. If you want to see them receive the punishment they deserve, then lower it."

---

-POV 3rd Person-

Almost instantly, all thumbs turned downwards, the soldiers and their family members, already aware of the king's decision, naturally pressured by shouting slogans such as,

"Death to traitors!"

The king himself raised his hand after a few seconds and the stadium became instantly silent, everyone awaiting the ultimate decision of the king, whether he would be strong enough to order the execution of his uncle, the brother of the Prince of Dorne.

Finally, after seconds that felt interminable to everyone, the king lowered his thumb, signifying the death sentence for his great-uncle.

Gregor Clegane, known as the Mountain, thrust his thumbs into Oberyn Martell's eye sockets and then pressed with all his might to end the life of the Prince.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

After a few seconds, the screams of the Prince of Dorne ceased and then the king hurled Lightbringer like a spear towards Aegon Blackfyre, who only reacted once the sword had impaled in his chest.

He looked down at the sword spitting blood, but his ordeal was not over yet.

As if the sword came to life, its dark color transformed to an orange hue, and a massive blaze surrounded Aegon Blackfyre.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

A scream even more terrible than that of Oberyn erupted from the mouth of the usurper and the king maintained an impassive face while relishing the fear in the eyes of his vassals.

The king waited a few seconds before saying, "Fire cannot kill a true dragon."
