Ezekiel did not succeed in getting a spare antidote from his mother because she claimed to have none, and making a new antidote would take the same amount of time it'd take for Taffi's poison to wear off, so what was the point?

He returned to Sania with the disappointing news that she already expected, and the young Queen appreciated his gesture and thanked him for trying. They also spent a few minutes with Sania before wishing her goodbye and leaving her alone in the room again.

Once again the atmosphere became quite depressing. As she lay on the bed, every attempt to look away from him failed, but looking at him brought tears to her eyes.

She couldn't believe how much she needed him to pet-talk her to sleep, she couldn't believe how much she wanted to fall asleep in his arms like she always did.

It felt as though she was back to her lonely days in the castle because as far as she was concerned, Taffi was absent even though his body was present.
