Kapitel 324: Chapter 324: Thanos's Dream, The Spider Avengers

Looking at the mine walls adorned with divine stone statues that seemed to be struggling to climb up the smooth rock surfaces, Thanos realized they were the fates of those who had failed the test. Once again, the voice of the Infinite Three Witches echoed around him.

"The God's Quarry is the tomb of the gods."

"Those dead, forgotten deities will forever rest here."

"This place holds their supreme power!"

"Anyone who wishes to obtain the divine power here must pass through these trials."

"If you fail, you will be pinned forever on this eternal wall, becoming a part of it!"

The so-called eternal wall referred to the smooth rock faces surrounding the mine.

Facing the wall, with faces of despair struggling eternally, anyone might hesitate, but Thanos did not. He decisively lay down on the stone beneath him and began to climb down; however, before he had gone far, he was instantly turned to stone.

In the next moment, Thanos found himself on Earth. The previously crowded cities remained bustling but were no longer cramped; every face bore a bright, happy smile.

Looking elsewhere, Xandar, Asgard, the Shi'ar Empire, the Kree Empire, the Skrull Empire... the entire universe had returned to peace and tranquility with a snap of the Infinity Gauntlet.

Next, Thanos arrived at his self-appointed final resting place—a pastoral setting! Weary, he returned from the fields, carrying a sack full of fresh vegetables.

Just as he reached his doorstep, a beautiful young woman was waiting for him—it was Death!

Death's face bore a happy smile, reminiscent of a wife who had prepared dinner, waiting for her husband to return home for the evening meal, gentle and virtuous.

"Thanos, you're back."

Seeing Thanos, the smile on Death's face grew even sweeter, filled with affection.

Then, a little girl with green skin, dressed in coarse clothes, ran out from the house, quickly passing Death and running towards Thanos. Her legs still unsteady, she tripped over a stone after a few steps and fell forward, her little green face about to make close contact with the ground.

Thanos quickly stepped forward, catching the little girl with swift hands, chiding, "Gamora, why aren't you more careful?"

"Because I knew Daddy would save me," the little girl cooed, then kissed Thanos on the cheek and said in a childish voice, "I love you three thousand times!"

Stunned by her words, Thanos realized this life was exactly what he had longed for.

"Ha ha ha!..."

Suddenly, Thanos laughed.

His laughter, initially full of joy and happiness, gradually turned cold, and finally, it became somewhat hideous: "Is this the test of the God's Quarry? Ridiculous!"

"Don't you like this life?" Death asked as she approached, her face still serene. "Look at everything here, how beautiful it is!"

"The universe has been balanced by your efforts, people are happy, I am happy, and so is Gamora..."

"We will always be together, working from sunrise to sunset, isn't this what you've always wanted?"

Thanos's expression hardened, returning to that of the ruthless universal overlord: "What I want is not just a dream! I want to achieve this in reality, to fulfill my grand vision, not to barely survive in a dream!"

"Return to reality?"

Hearing Thanos's resolute declaration, Death's tone turned icy: "Just because you, a demigod, deserve my favor in reality?"

And little Gamora pouted, looking upset: "If you leave here, I won't be able to love you three thousand times a day. I'd rather kill you myself."

Without giving Thanos a chance to argue, Death continued: "In reality, what can you achieve?"

"I don't care for you, Gamora hates you. Your dream of collecting the Infinity Stones, erasing half of the universe's life to restore balance is just that—a dream!"

"Have you defeated Clark?"

Death's words were cutting, deeply wounding.

Yet Thanos seemed unfazed, coldly glancing at Death before him, then abruptly dropping Gamora to the ground and delivering a powerful punch straight into the earth beneath him.

In the next moment, the dream shattered!

...

Meanwhile, as a streak of fire appeared, Zayn's figure emerged in front of the From-Heart No. 1 spaceship. Seeing Nebula and the others somewhat panic-stricken, an evil smile spread across his face.

Just as he was about to destroy Thanos's ship completely, a figure suddenly appeared in front of Zayn: "This spaceship is now my private property; you cannot touch it."

Seeing Clark, Zayn felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head, his fervent battle spirit instantly cooled.

He remembered what

Death had told him not long ago.

"If you really push him too far, the one who will fall is you, while he... although he will pay a hefty price, it won't be unbearable."

Believing in the goddess's warning, Zayn knew Death had never deceived him. Without her guidance and secret help, he could never have gained the power to dominate the universe as he now did.

Even though his soul had been devoured by the Phoenix, he still firmly believed that the goddess would never deceive him!

The enemy before him was not someone he could defeat with the power of the Phoenix!

Forcing himself to calm down from the fury of facing his enemy, Zayn asked solemnly, "Where is Thanos?"

Clark, intending to take Zayn down with Thanos's help, did not hide anything. Smiling lightly, he pointed towards a black hole at the end of the starry sky: "He is waiting for you there. If you want to kill him, go find him there."

Zayn, filled with apprehension, looked at Clark again. After a moment's hesitation, and seeing that the goddess did not object, he turned and flew towards the black hole leading to the God's Quarry.

Watching Zayn disappear into the black hole, a playful smile curled on Clark's lips.

What followed would be a spectacular father-son showdown!

Clark was not worried at all about Zayn completing his patricidal feat; he had already given Thanos a chance. If he could not seize it, it would only show his own incompetence.

At worst, Clark would find another way to deal with this dutiful son.

In his view, it was a good thing no matter who killed whom.

...

In a parallel universe, young Spider-Man Peter Parker had been living here for several days.

While investigating the truth behind the temporal chaos and searching for a way home, he made many friends.

Besides Gwen, the older sister he met first, he encountered several others with similar experiences.

A middle-aged greasy version of himself made Peter fear for his own future. After all, his idols were great heroes like Clark and Iron Man—how could he possibly end up looking so unhealthy? Determined not to become like his counterpart, Peter decided to study hard and take control of his own destiny!

A 1980s sheriff-dressed Shadow Spider-Man, whose voice reminded him of the recordings left by the father of Iron Lady Mindy. Clark said that after adopting Mindy, she often listened to those recordings where her father coached her shooting skills.

Clark's tone was filled with indulgence when he spoke of these things.

I mean, Iron Lady Mindy is already nineteen, older than Gwen. How could she be cuter than me?

Moreover, there was a pig... no, a Spider-Ham!

His name was Porker.

According to him, he came from an animal universe where all the heroes were animals, like Captain Americat, Iron Mouse, Shiba Inu Thor, Quick Duck, and Hawkeye...

Spider-Ham Porker and his team, the Animal Avengers, had once fought against an evil Prince Loki, a malevolent moose who loved receiving gifts so much that he captured Santa Claus to keep receiving gifts daily, resulting in a joyless Christmas for all children.

Spider-Ham's stories left young Spider-Man utterly baffled.

Could there really be such whimsically themed parallel universes?

However, compared to Spider-Ham, young Spider-Man still preferred Penny Parker.

She was a young girl with Asian features, around the same age as Peter, which gave them more in common.

Penny's abilities differed from other Spider-Men; she controlled a battle mech through a radioactive spider, a perfect combination of Spider-Man's and Iron Man's powers—or perhaps, Iron Spider-Man!

That battle mech was so cool, nearly as impressive as his father Tony's Iron Man suits!

Besides these individuals, there was also a black young boy named Miles Morales. He wasn't a traveler from another universe but a native of this one, bitten by a radioactive spider to become Peter Parker's successor.

Although Miles's control over his powers was even less refined than Peter's, it gave young Spider-Man a slight sense of superiority.

Now, these seven Spider-Men had formed the Spider Avengers, engaged in a fierce battle against the terrifying supervillain, Kingpin!
