Kapitel 306: Chapter 306: Darkness Approaches

Asgard, within the golden palace of the royal city.

The newly crowned King Thor sits on the throne, his gaze deep as he looks forward, his lips occasionally revealing a doting smile. No matter how you look at it, it feels somewhat sleazy, even perverse!

This nauseating demeanor only makes Prime Minister Loki's skin crawl.

Loki tries to hold back, but when he can't stand it anymore, he puts down his pen and protests sternly, "Thor, you bastard, what indecent thing are you spying on in the Golden Palace with the power of the Ninth Realm that makes you grin like an experienced old driver?"

Caught off guard, Thor instinctively wipes his face and then adopts a serious expression, saying, "How could that be? I was just checking on the situation on Earth."

"Didn't Uncle say before that although Hela's issue has been resolved, the day of the Nine Stars Alignment is near, and the Dark Elves might return. As the king of Asgard, I..."

Loki looks at Thor with a gaze that says "I'm just watching you make a fool of yourself," and suddenly asks out of nowhere, "What's Jane doing?"

Without thinking, Thor casually replies, "She went to an abandoned factory, today she looks especially beauti..."

Mid-sentence, Thor realizes he's revealed too much. His face immediately turns ugly yet holds an awkward smile as he hastily says, "That was an illusion just now."

Loki rolls his eyes, increasingly at a loss for words with his ridiculous brother.

Since Thor's coronation, he agreed that Loki would handle minor matters, while he would take care of major issues. But damn, in his eyes, it seems nothing qualifies as a major issue except for Hela's return!

And the way you delicately put it, "You handle the internal affairs, I'll handle the fights."

But really, you should be able to handle a fight too. Whenever a formidable enemy appears, isn't it always Uncle Clark who has to step in?

What use are you?

As the saying goes, brothers know each other's hearts. Just as Loki harbors thoughts of "What use are you," Thor's face suddenly reveals a mischievous smile, softly calling, "Loki, Aki, little Kiki..."

Hearing Thor's cheeky tone, Loki almost drops his pen, "Talk business, don't disgust me!"

"It's like this."

Thor shifts closer to Loki, lowering his voice, "As the king of Asgard, I should understand my people better. I reckon sitting in this golden palace all day won't help me understand the common people's hardships."

"Besides, Asgard is safe with you in charge. I'm thinking, maybe I should visit Midgard to observe the local conditions and strengthen ties with the Avengers, which would also help Asgard's foreign and military development. You see..."

Loki mercilessly retorts, "What do you really want to do on Earth, don't you know? I think you just want to date that beauty Jane Foster, right?"

" Loki, that's not fair. How could I... Oh no!" Mid-sentence, Thor's flippant expression suddenly disappears, and he stands up with a grave tone, "Jane's gone. She disappeared in that abandoned factory; I must go check it out right now."

Loki gives a devilish smile, "As expected of superstar Lei Jinjiang, nice acting. Thumbs up!"

"I'm serious!" Thor's expression is utterly grave, "She suddenly disappeared, and there's something strange about the spatial fluctuations in that factory. And... Uncle Clark is there too, come and see!"

Finally dropping his teasing demeanor, Loki knows Thor isn't joking this time.

Nodding, Loki finally says, "If that's the case, you better go check it out."

As Thor gets ready to leave, Loki suddenly calls out, "Thor, remember, a kingdom cannot remain kingless for a day." Seeing Thor's grave nod, Loki quickly adds, "But with or without you, Asgard will manage."

Thor's face brightens, "Then I leave Asgard in your hands."

Watching Thor's retreating figure, Loki's expression gradually darkens.

What a joke! If it were any other king, he would have turned against me by now.

What's with that pleased expression?

Do you even have the awareness of a king?

Ignoring the clueless fool, Loki decides to channel his anger into work...

In fact, Loki is quite satisfied with his life now.

Ever since he was young, he longed for recognition, especially from Odin, and wanted to prove he was better than Thor.

His mindset was just like Naruto's at the beginning of Naruto.

The difference is, Naruto is a fool aiming to surpass someone stoic, whereas Loki, also a fool, aims to surpass someone even more foolish than himself.

Now, Loki has achieved his goal. He has not only gained the recognition of his parents but also the respect of all Asgardians!

Although he's not technically king, he does everything a king should.

And his brother, though unreliable, isn't that just perfect?

If Thor were truly wise and valiant, where would Loki's talents shine?

Now, as long as he can improve the lives of Asgard's people, everyone will remember it was Loki's doing.

His achievements will be recorded in the annals of the celestial palace!

As for Thor being king, that seems quite good too.

Uncle Clark has said several times that for a long while, the universe will face endless calamities. At such a time, having a capable brother on the throne to bear all wartime pressures allows him the freedom to build.

Fighting, what's the fun in that compared to handling state affairs?

Let Thor go out and have fun, as long as he can be called back in times of danger in Asgard.

So, should Asgard also enter the internet age like Earth?

By entering the internet age, Asgard's people can align their mindset with Earth's. The main thing is, it would help people understand that a king is just a figurehead, while the Prime Minister is the backbone of a nation.

Yes, let's do that!

...

Meanwhile, outside an abandoned factory in New York.

You haven't seen this, but once again, the issue arises in New York. This city, cursed by movies, is always plagued by various natural and man-made disasters.

Now with the Nine Stars Alignment, the only place on Earth affected is still this city.

Speaking of the abandoned factory, Clark recalls the movie's plot was supposed to be in Britain, how did it end up in New York?

Perhaps, this is the change caused by the butterfly effect.

In the factory, various strange events like spatial wormholes and overlapping spaces are occurring, and now the entire factory is under strict police guard.

But before that, Jane Foster had entered to investigate and has not come out yet.

At this moment, it's pouring rain.

Suddenly, a Maserati sports car playing the song "Catch a Prawn" speeds from afar, performing a stylish drift near the factory, nearly splashing the water on the police maintaining order.

Then the car door opens, and an extremely handsome Asian young man gets out from the passenger side. Even the raindrops falling from the sky dare not defile his perfect beauty, sliding off to the sides three feet above his head without wetting a single

 corner of his clothes.

As the police try to stop him, a tall, blonde woman holding an umbrella steps forward from the driver's side, showing an FBI badge, "I'm FBI Agent Sharon Carter, and we are now taking over this situation. You just need to keep this area secured and prevent unauthorized entry."

The FBI, as the USA's most renowned "relevant department," has an extremely broad scope of authority, even marking the beginning of inappropriate movies with "FBI warning," making it clear that in the USA, there's nothing they can't manage.

SHIELD prefers to keep a low profile, using an FBI badge as a shield is perfectly normal, and their credentials are not fake.

Once the police verify the authenticity of the badge, they immediately allow passage, cooperating fully.

Walking towards the factory, Sharon speaks, "Clark, Director Fury just sent a message asking if the alignment of the nine planets into a straight line might cause gravitational changes, leading to various disasters."

It's a valid concern. Normally, special celestial events affect gravity first. Even solar eclipses can impact the climate to some extent, let alone the Nine Stars Alignment.

However, Clark responds, "Tell him not to worry, the changes this time are on a spatial level." Pausing briefly, he adds, "When spatial overlaps and wormholes occur, a series of chain reactions happen, and the gravitational changes that would normally occur are negated in the process. All this according to Dr. Eric, who is an expert in this field."

After saying this, Clark stops and senses the chaotic spatial fluctuations inside the factory.

Suddenly, his calm and handsome face shows a playful smile, "Thor is here."

Sharon looks puzzled, searching for Thor, whom Clark mentioned. Suddenly, a burst of colorful light pierces the clouds above and flashes past them, leaving only Thor's tall and sturdy figure.

"Uncle. Jane... she..."

Clark gestures, "She disappeared after entering this factory, and I'm also searching. I've already found a potential spatial node. Sharon, it's unsafe here; you wait in the car. Thor, come with me."

With that, he steps forward, already reaching a wall five meters away, turns back to wave at Thor, steps forward again, and instantly disappears.

Passing through the spatial wormhole, Clark enters a pitch-black world. Here, he feels a familiar yet despised energy fluctuation.

Dark energy!

A type of dark magic energy, somewhat similar to Dormammu's, yet different.

"Jane!"

While Clark focuses on observing the dark energy fluctuations, Thor's goal is much simpler. He immediately spots a woman lying unconscious on the ground and rushes over to help her up, his face full of tenderness.

As Clark approaches, his gaze sweeps over Jane Foster and he frowns.

Sensing Clark's concerned expression, Thor anxiously asks, "Uncle, what happened to Jane? She should be okay, right?"

Shaking his head, Clark says helplessly, "She's been exposed to Aether particles, but now the Aether isn't on her anymore, probably taken by someone else. Even just the residual energy is too much for a regular person to bear... Let's talk more later."

Thor looks puzzled, insisting, "How can we talk later when Jane's in trouble?"

Clark gives Thor a stern look but doesn't scold him.

Putting oneself in his shoes, Clark feels he wouldn't be much different.

Compared to the safety of the Nine Realms, obviously, one's own loved ones are more important.

Although he understands Thor's impetuousness, he still needs to explain, "The Reality Stone has re-emerged... ahem, the Aether has broken its seal, likely awakening the long-dormant Dark Elves. And judging by Jane's condition, it seems the Aether has already fallen into their hands."

"They're quick, aren't they!"

Frowning slightly, Clark says to Thor, who is holding Jane in his arms, "Your grandfather Bor defeated the Dark Elves and sealed the Aether, which could alter reality and bring darkness back to light."

"Now that they've broken the seal, what do you think they'll do?"
