"That's a beautiful dress, Glory."
Gwen said to Gloria, her best friend from the band, sitting next to her.
"I designed it myself, you know how much I like to do things myself."
Gloria rubbed her feet and stood up, looking out over the audience at the reveling students below, and said to Gwen, "Come down for a walk, my feet are getting numb."
Gwen nodded and followed her down from the audience.
The two walked around tables stacked with the school's logo-colored crepe paper and topped with bottles of wine with candles stuck in them, flyers for the contest, and garden-variety nuts for the students to eat.
"I must say though, Gwen, you look beautiful and radiant today too, do you have any secrets?" Glory asked Gwen as she stood at the table, casually picking up the nuts.
At the moment, Gwen was wearing a high-waisted dress, the right dress to bring out her figure, perfectly.
"The secret is, I'm Don. McLean's secret lover.
(Don. McLean, an American folk singer from New York.)
Gwen joked, picked up the flyer for the game from the table, and turned her attention back to the rugby players who were warming up, saying to Glory, "I wonder if we can win today's game."
"Hi Gwen."
Gwen was chatting with Glory when a voice appeared behind her.
The two turned around to see Frank appear behind them.
"Frank?"
Gwen recognized the silent classmate, but remembered that the other party never seemed to initiate a conversation with him.
Frank squeezed a smile out of the corner of his mouth and asked Gwen, "Can I talk to you?"
"Uhm ..."
Gwen hesitated and nodded, "Sure."
She remembered that this classmate had often suffered from the bullying of those school bullies before, just like Peter.
She always had a sympathetic attitude towards the victims of such school bullies.
Gloria shrugged her shoulders towards Gwen in a very sensible manner, "You guys chat, I'll wait for you over there."
After Gloria left, Gwen asked Frank, "What are we going to talk about, Frank, about studying? Maybe I can give you some advice, not sure if it'll work though.
"No, not about studies, I ....."
Frank had a smile on his lips as he gazed straight at Gwen "I just wanted to say that you look beautiful today.
Gwen's high-waisted dress, which complemented her blonde hair, and a simple style necklace around her neck, looked full of mysterious charm.
Looks like Glory wasn't complimenting me, maybe ... I really did dress a little mature today.
Gwen thought to herself.
Quickly shaking the jumble of thoughts out of her head, she thanked Frank, "Thanks."
"I haven't seen you in class lately, is something wrong?"
Gwen was tempted to leave, she found the atmosphere too awkward, but felt it would seem rude to just leave, so she made up a random topic.
Frank was silent for a moment, his eyes going to the students celebrating by the leaning fire, "I've been through some bad stuff."
Gwen assumed he was talking about being bullied and thought for a moment before saying, "I'm sorry about that, but maybe it's all behind us and the bad memories we can put behind us."
"I can't forget."
Frank looked up, his eyes burning into Gwen "I'd like to say that I don't blame anyone, but that would be a lie! I'll blame everyone and I'll keep on blaming, and I don't want to lie in front of you right now."
Listening to her opponent's somewhat maniacal words, Gwen's brow furrowed and a sense of foreboding surged through her she couldn't help but take two steps backward
"It's over, it's all over now."
Frank said while the madness in his eyes increased.
"I remember the last school event like this, the school spring dance. I was at that dance too, and I was going to ask you to be my date, and I saw you in heels that day, quite a bit taller than me, and I was going to ask you, but ..."
He paused and took a step closer to Gwen.
"Josh's group of guys from the football team, tied me up on the stage with a boring prank and poured beer and juice all over me, it wasn't a good feeling, I looked like a monkey on the fence, and I'll always remember what Josh did to me."
Gwen's breath hitched, "Did you kill Josh?"
"That just gave him what he deserved!"
Frank's voice was laced with indignation, his eyes red.
But he quickly calmed down and let out a breath, "Now I have a different kind of power, I can do as I please, it's a gift from God, I'm the king that's in control!"
He took a step closer to Gwen, "Gwen, when I was tied up on the stage, only you were willing to help me, you angrily rebuked the group and untied me, from that time, I fell in love with you, Gwen, I love you, will you one and all be my queen?"
Gwen looked at Frank in front of her with shocked eyes.
She knew the guy who sent the confession letter towards her mailbox was also the pervert in front of her.
"You crazy bastard!"
The moment Gwen said those words, she backhanded the gondolieri boat that held the nuts on the table. (Gondolieri boat: a distinctive Venetian pointed boat, many such container utensils in the United States hold water fruit.)
"Boom!"
The gondolier, along with the nuts, hit Frank hard on the head.
The nuts fell to the ground with a crash, but Frank, who was hit on the head, was unharmed.
Narrowing his eyes, a cold light flashed in them as he launched a palm at Gwen.
"Dang!"
Gwen's body bounced violently backward, hitting the table hard.
The bottle of wine with a candle inserted on the table fell to the ground with a loud bang, and flames immediately spread out in all directions, and even the flyer of the match was set on fire, and the whole lawn was covered with sparks and began to burn fiercely.Gwen, who was hit in the back, felt a blackout in front of her eyes as she struggled to suppress the pain and keep herself awake!
The back was hit by the Gwen, felt a blackness in front of her eyes, she tried to suppress the pain, to keep herself awake.
"I've always believed in the saying, "If your right eye tells you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away!"
Frank spat the words out of his mouth as his sinister gaze turned to the members of the football team.
"Run!"
Gwen shouted towards the onlookers who were still in a daze.
"Boom!"
A clamor erupted from the crowd, screams and shouts of terror filled the entire playground as everyone surged towards the entrance of the playground.
The originally lively event suddenly turned into an inferno that the crowd was scrambling to escape from.
The flames spread along the lawn, fueled by the wind, quickly spreading around.
