She thought she would face it steadfastly, but she didn't expect that a single text message would collapse her resolve.
Those past experiences flew by like trees outside of a speeding car, playing out one after another in her mind.
Three years, she loved him for three years. Now it all vanished like a fleeting firework. Her eyes welled up with huge tear drops, which landed on her cellphone, becoming a withered flower.
Qin Feng saw the woman silently weeping in the rearview mirror: "Miss, are you okay?"
He took out a tissue with his free hand and handed it to her.
Upon hearing this, Lan Xin Ai realized that she was still in someone else's car. She silently accepted the tissue from Qin Feng, dabbing away her tears before taking a breath to say, "Take me to the Rose Tea House on Xufu Road, thank you."
Qin Feng was very understanding: "Okay."
Lan Xin Ai called Tian Tian. The phone rang a few times, then she heard Tian Tian's clamoring voice: "Xin Ai, where are you? You scared me to death, you know that? Disappearing on your own wedding day, do you realize how fragile my heart is?"
Hearing her best friend's agitated voice, Lan Xin Ai seemed to have found her place in the world. A gentle warmth surfaced in her beautiful black eyes: "I'm okay, Tian Tian."
"You've been crying. Where are you?"
Lan Xin Ai gave shout to Qin Feng, her voice calm: "Rose Tea House, see you soon."
Half an hour later!
"I can only take you this far. If you walk along this path, you'll be on Xufu Road." Qin Feng gentlemanly opened the car door for her.
"Thank you."
After taking a few steps away, Lan Xin Ai turned back to Qin Feng: "Please tell your young master, thank you."
"Okay." Qin Feng smiled.
The Rose Tea House, a century-old tea house on Xufu Road, provides a classical yet exquisite setting which is not frequently visited by young ladies like Lan Xin Ai.
"Miss, how many will be joining you?"
"Two, we'll take room C in the private section." Lan Xin Ai responded with familiar ease, indicating she was a regular customer.
The private rooms in the Rose Tea House were separated by waist-height bamboo partitions, providing peace and tranquility.
Not long after Lan Xin Ai sat down, a lively young woman in a low cut, backless, black chiffon slip dress rushed in. With ample cleavage on display, she dazzled onlookers. Her wine-red wavy hair draped over her shoulders, emitting an effervescent aura that headed straight for C seat.
"Xin Ai, you still have the nerve to drink tea! Why did you cancel the wedding out of the blue? Why was your phone off all the time, and why is Tang Yun Ze dodging my calls? I even visited his office but he was nowhere to be found. What on earth is going on?"
Stomping her ten-centimeter heels loudly, Tian Tian sat down opposite Lan Xin Ai, her cute face full of questioning.
"Lu Tian Tian, could you keep your voice down?" Lan Xin Ai rubbed her temples.
"Xin Ai, what happened?"
Lowering her voice, charged with tension, Tian Tian asked. The bride suddenly disappeared without a reason and then the wedding was inexplicably cancelled. Everyone was in the dark.
Tian Tian was so worried, neither could she get through to Lan Xin Ai's phone nor see Tang Yun Ze. Her heart was in her throat.
Lan Xin Ai managed a bitter smile: "Tian Tian, Tang Yun Ze have another woman."
"What?" Tian Tian sprayed out her mouthful of tea.
"Lan Xin Ai, what did you just say? Tang Yun Ze cheated?"
Tian Tian stared at Lan Xin Ai with wide eyes!
This was indeed shocking news.
