Kapitel 10: PWA 10 First Battle [Rewrite]
As I along with Kotonoha bid our farewell to Professor Oak after thanking him for giving us our starter Pokémon.
I and Kotonoha is on our way to get out from Professor Oak's Lab, when Gary who is already waiting for us near the exit door suddenly blocked our path.
"Wanna get out, Sissy? Not so fast! Now that we both have already got our Pokémon, I challenge you to a duel! Do you dare to accept or not?" With an arrogant manner as usual, Gary the cocky rival from the first anime of Pokémon franchise showed off his pokeball to Jovanna.
"Oh? You wanna go to duel me? Why not? Come on, then! It's time to d-d-d-d-duel!!!!" Not wanting to lose, Jovanna immediately replied while making those American Yu-Gi-Oh! Catchphrase.

Before we continue on the story, let me explain the Standard Rules for One on One Pokémon Battles in PokeWack World:
1. Both Trainers must agreed first on how many Pokemons is allowed to go in battle, usually it range from 1 to 3.
For example, you have 6 Pokémons and your enemy only have 3 Pokémons. Before the battle begins, both of you have agreed on using only 3 Pokémons. So even if you have 6 Pokémons, you can only use 3 among them on that battle.
Another example is you only have 1 Pokemon while your enemy have 4 Pokemons, and before the battle begins, both of you have agreed on using all the Pokémons that you have. In that case, while you are stuck with the only Pokémon you have, your enemy can use all 4 of their Pokemons in 1 vs 1, 4 rounds battle.
2. The Pokémon League has encouraged people to bet their money on Pokémon Battles. Before the Battle begins, both Trainers can set how much money they will be betted on the Battle using their PokeGear. The money then will be automatically transferred to the winner's account after the battle ends.
3. The battle is conducted on 1 vs 1, switching in between your Pokémon is allowed only when they are on the standby. If a Pokémon is in the midst of combat and you returned them to their pokeball when they are about to get hit by the enemy attack(s), then it counts as forfeiting and the Pokémon is considered as lose on that battle.
4. No Items is allowed to be used on the Pokémon in the midst of Battle, except the Held Items that has already been held by the Pokémon before they enter the battle like berries or power ups. Or else there would be those unscrupulous rich bastard who would waste their potions and revives just so that they can win a single Pokémon Battle. Such an uneconomic and non-sportive behaviour is frowned upon by everyone with morals and common sense in the PokeWack World.
5. The battle ends when one Trainer has lose all of their participating Pokémon, either by fainting in combat or by forfeiting, to which their opponent is declared as the winner.

Since both Jovanna and Gary currently only have one Pokémon on their possession, there is no need to waste the time making an agreement for one on one Pokémon Battle.
As for the betting money, though....
"I bet ₱ 2,000! Do you dare to meet my bet!?"
"Hmph? Only ₱ 2,000? I bet on ₱ 3,000! Do you dare to meet my bet or not!?"
"Humph, do you think this young master is short on money? Fine, then. I bet on ₱ 3,000! Let's the duel begin!"
"Go, Shion!" Jovanna said while taking out his Wooxie.
"Go, Bablav!" Gary also shouted his Pokémon name while taking it out.
A Pokémon that looks like a baby is coming out from Gary's pokeball. Its entire body is made from glowing hot orange red lava, with a plate of hardened dark red magma on its back that make it looks like a turtle's carapace or a snail shell. The Lava Baby Pokémon is standing like a humanoid creature, waving its two tiny hands cutely, while its pair of bright yellow eyes is staring innocently on its opponents. But as cute and innocent as it may looks, the searing heat from its vulcanic body is no joke.
Both Jovanna and Kotonoha felt hot like they are standing in front of a gas stove with full Maximum flame.
Jovanna looked at his Wood Fairy Pokémon Shion who still seems unbothered by the scorching heat.
Meanwhile Kotonoha can't help but feel worry for her new friend who rashly accepted the challenge despite her opponent having a type advantage against her Pokémon (yeah, Kotonoha still thinks that our MC is a she not a he despite already hearing Gary calling Jovanna "sissy boy" earlier, she though it's just Gary's way to insult Jovanna as a tomboy even though his appearance is already more beautiful than most of the other girls that she have ever seen).
As Kotonoha is worrying for her new friend, the battle is already go on.
"Shion, use Pound!"
"Bablav, Harden!"
Shion pounded hard on the red hot baby Pokémon, while her foe is curling up its infantile body and tries to harden its lava body.
"Shion, Pound again! Pound like there is no tomorrow!"
"Woooooo xieeeee~!!!!"
Hearing the punny command from her trainer, Shion lets out a strange sound that is like a horse neighing in full spirit in the first part, and a psycho dominatrix queen who is prepared to torture her victim on the last part.
She charges up to her enemy, and pound it again with even greater fervor than earlier.
"Bablav, counter it with Tackle!" Deciding to go on the offensive, Gary instructed his hardened Pokémon to go tackling its foe.
