Alec felt the commlink in his ear buzz, and he clicked it and answered while glancing at a large anima that was crawling its way out from a hole in the ground. I have to kill that before it surfaces.

"Turner. Situation report."

On the other side of the call, Turner was standing on top of a building while watching the carnage going on below. Turner grimaced as a man was crushed by a large anima before another superhuman appeared from behind and tore the anima in half.

[Things aren't looking good, sir. Tina is busy fighting over at the outskirts of City C, and I can't tell how long she can hold out without reinforcements. I'm going to regroup with her when I'm done here, but the underground path leading to the basement was blocked.]
