Kapitel 46: Chapter 46 : Going deeper into the dungeon(1)

Bittu was shocked to find that his dantian, as said in the information, was cracked.

"What, why–", he let out in a surprised and rage filled voice. However, he suddenly had a realization.

"....."

"Is this the reason why I feel pain whenever I upgrade my stats?", he thought as he came up with a guess. Since when it happened, he didn't have time to see what actually caused the pain.

"Wait, that doesn't seem right. Earlier, when I upgraded both my constitution and agility, I didn't feel any stinging sensation.", he became confused as he remembered not happening anything to him.

"What's going on? Is my guess wrong?!", he said out loud, now unsure of his guess. He thought for a while but couldn't come up with another guess.

"Maybe I could find some clues from the notifications.", he began checking the notifications. He wanted to know the reason now that he found what actually caused the pain.

Soon he discovered a notification that made him have another guess.

[Congratulations, you are given a mythical grade treasure, Affinity Dew; Illusion.]

"Could it be....because of this dew?", he said with some hesitation.

"No, how could it be because of this dew?", I discarded this thought. I mean, how or rather why would an affinity dew heal wounds or.... would it?!

I didn't know!

However, what he didn't know was that his thinking was actually correct. The affinity dew, illusion, had temporarily made his suffering fake. Thus, he didn't have to suffer then. Similarly, it has also cured his injuries from the fight against the endless skeletons.

This is not a phenomenon that should happen, but it still did because he came out before the illusion was finished. Thus, the dew was still left a little, hence it was acting this way so that its power would fully dissipate.

"Sigh... It's useless thinking about it. Instead, I have another question to ponder about right now."

"What should I replace my dantian with?!"

Bittu's mood soured instantly as disappointment stepped in.

"Does that mean I can't store mana?", he became gloomy at the thought of being unable to use mana.

"...",he was about to stop creating his mana circuits when suddenly a thought crossed in his mind.

'How can I give up so easily?' He thought, agitated.

'How can I just let it go without even trying?' Disgust flashed in his eyes for himself.

'First of all, why did that thought even appear in my mind?!', he thought in silent anger.

Taking a deep breath, he thought, 'I need to be careful of my thoughts. Every Man Has In Himself The Most Dangerous Traitor Of All'

'I can't let myself drown because of my own insecurities.'

'I should complete the circuits first. After that I can worry about my dantian. Or else if I really did find something to replace it but hadn't completed my circuits, then it would be a huge waste since I won't be able to create circuits again.'

He proceeded to do as planned.

...

After what felt like an eternity, he was finally about to complete the mana circuits with only his head left.

Taking a deep breath, he slowly and delicately began to replicate the blood vessels. Though, the moment he began replicating mana began to form a cocoon around his body.

Gradually, he replicated his mouth with beads of sweat all around his body. He then proceeded to his nose. With a deadly focused mind, he completed it, too.

The surrounding mana was creating a soft breeze as they spun and covered him in a cocoon.

He then replicated his eyes, which took the most amount of time since it was a delicate part. He had to be extremely careful. Similarly, he replicated his ears.

The surrounding mana was already visible to the naked eye as they now covered him in a giant cocoon.

Bittu proceeded to do the same with the last remaining part; his glabella.

This time he had to be even more delicate since he had to be careful not to mess with his brain totally and just connect it to the rest by a single point.

Gradually, with extreme precision, and with a lot of focus and dedication. He finally finished creating all his mana circuits.

His face was full of smiles and happiness. However, his expression turned a bit distasteful as he remembered and said while opening his eyes, " If only my dantian was still fine, then I could have witnessed the blessing of mana—"

"What?!", Bittu let out a baffled cry as he looked at the mana that was all around him.

The mana stopped spinning when it heard his words. Suddenly, a small slip of mana entered his body, and then he felt like he heard a "soft hum" that was filled with sadness.

A while later it disappeared, seeing that he didn't have a place to store the mana.

Bittu just watched all this happen, unable to comprehend what was going on. Only a while later did it click into his mind," Was that the blessings of mana as written in the information?"

"But, it didn't do anything to me.", he thought, disappointed. Although he knew it had to do something with his dantian.

This came off as another blow to him. However, unlike before, this only made his resolve stronger to search for a cure at all costs.

Taking a deep breath, he stood up and said," No need to cry over spilled milk. Moreover, I still haven't found what was it that attracted me here in the first place."

With renewed determination, Bittu picked up all the weapons and put them into the hidden pockets of his armor and hanging his blade near his waist. He moved towards the staircase.

...

In the darkness, climbing the staircase for a while, Bittu could now see light a distance from him.

He hastened his steps and entered the light. With a curious gaze, he looked around and was mesmerized by what he saw.

Before him lay a serene oasis. Towering walls of vibrant greenery enveloped the scene, creating a cocoon of natural splendor. Within this intimate space, the tranquil waters of the lake lie undisturbed, reflecting the lush surroundings with crystalline clarity. It was the absolute contrast of what the dungeon room was like.

"Beautiful", was all he could utter, stunned speechless by the nature's beauty. It was truly a breathtaking sight. He didn't expect to see this at all.

He then looked around in wonder and also found a pathway along the perimeter leading deeper within.

He ignored it and made his way towards the oasis.

The first thing that Bittu noticed in the clear water of the lake was his face. He was stunned as he gazed at himself.

"This is me?", he said with some hesitation. Looking at his reflection, he had mixed feelings because of the two sets of his memories.

This was the first time he saw himself. The first time he knew what he looked like actually!

Not in some illusion!

Bittu touched his face with his hand and said with intense emotions in his eyes," I am real!"

Any shed of doubt that the depths of my heart held vanished as I looked at my reflection.

I had pale skin, blackish-brown eyes with my hair reaching near my nose. I was all dirty since I hadn't taken a bath in a long while. Taking a deep breath, I said, "Let's take a bath. Who knows when I would have the grace to do so again?"

After taking a bath and resting for a while he moved into the pathway that lead him deeper within.
