Zamright sat there thinking before he sighed and placed his hands together and concentrated. Gradually from his palms, the red mist began to accumulate and they formed into a red coin.
After some minutes, the coin solidified like solid red iron. It radiated energy and glowed with a red hue.
"Do you know what this is?"
"It's called the Century Blood Coin!" Van Neem answered, this time his heart was pounding in shock as the thing can only be created by very old vampires.
In theory, an extremely talented Vampire can make it at his 100th anniversary but normally only those that are 300 to 400 years old can make it.
Many couldn't even after 500 years. The question he was having in his head was how old is this 13-year-old-looking charming boy.
'Why do I care, I'm just his servant!' Van Neem pushed away the questions and brought back the business mindset. This was his greatest quality and what made him very loyal and obedient.
"Century Blood Coin?" Zamright muttered, 'The name has changed from Impure Essence.' He then asked, "Do you know its uses?"
"I learned that some Vampires feed it to their spawns. Some used it as energy for self-made tools and devices. Few store it and feed it later. There was also an unconfirmed rumour that it can be used to store racial skill to pass it on to heirs and others."
His answers were direct and precise and Zamright like that.
"I do know of a device called Portable Century Bank. Where multiple Century Blood Coins can be stored. The Bank can generate various energy that can power devices. It can also be used to just store the Coins and prevent them from leaking!"
"I see!" Zamright nodded, he knew about a device like that but he knew it by the name of Blood Essence Converter.
"How can I get this bank?"
"It's very expensive and it has no market value because there was a monopoly on it. Only people inside related organizations can get it with relative ease. However, through underground means, it can be obtained. The price will surely vary!"
Zamright smiled as he thought of something. He knew that to garner his attention Shisha Lamprey would do her best to procure the bank. That woman is hard-working.
He leaned back as he thought maybe he shouldn't have dismissed her the way he did. Maybe he would have soothed her and then stayed and shown her genuine guidance. That will make her willing to help him.
"So, can we spend this?" he asked.
"Without a license, no. But through the underground world, yes. but I do not recommend that. Because it can be used to learn about you and also used against you."
Zamright frowned. During his early years of being an Exalted Slave, he learned that spending Impure Essence was like spending any other currency. But now there were nefarious things about it.
But one thing about Van Neem was he was a very experienced man and thus had a better alternative.
"You can spend it through Floating City. As a VIP you can even donate to them and become Permanent VIP and use them to further your interest!"
Zamright eyes lit up and he smiled before he commented, "This is where experience triumphed over knowledge!"
"You flatter me, Mr Rite!" Van Neem blushed, he had no idea he could have that reaction. But Zamright's soft charisma was just too captivating especially when he smiled.
"Okay, use this one to find all the information we need regarding the Impure Essence uses and its value. Also, buy me some writing materials. I want to write some letters!" Zamright said as he handed the coin to Van.
Van wore gloves and then used a handkerchief to hold it. "To clarify, you call the coin Impure Essence?"
"Oh, yeah. But refer to it however you like!" Zamright said.
"I take my leave!" Van Neem walked out to attend to his assignments. But Zamright's thought was on how things have changed.
Impure Essence were truly impure in all senses, they were not meant to be consumed by the one that made them. Of course, impure essence from a high breed of Exalted one can be fed to a lower breed but even that was not recommended.
There were four races of Exalted Beings, each one having dominion over one. aspect of the body.
Exalted Pure was the race that Zamright for centuries, they were known to have mastered energy formed in the body, such as temperature of the body, emotions, and other aspects of the physical form.
Exalted Blood were masters of blood. Exalted Bones were the masters of bones. Exalted Physique were masters of the flesh and muscles part of the body.
This division can only be known if one has become one of them as before Zamright joined they all seemed the same.
What even made it vaguer was that they shared the authority that boosted their unity and also made them more powerful as well as making their exalted status more prominent in the world.
However, the diet of these people was complex, it ranged from the blood of special animals, monsters, life forms not limited to humans, to plants of different varieties and also some fed on the moonlight or sunlight, some gained nutrients from the soil.
But one thing was their feeding was sacred, monumental, and always regarded as a ceremony. But one thing was any human can be turned into them but have to serve for years, as in a minimum of ten centuries.
Slaves and servants fed on their master's essence. Even Zamright lived all those years feeding on his master's blood essence.
A single drop of blood essence in sacred water within a dispenser that never ran out of water and the blood essence that seems to never lose its potency. That was what Zamright consumed every 29 years until the flame that destroyed everything came.
Feeding from that essence builds his body and maintains his life. But for him to be a true Exalted Being he needs to purge away the essence of his body all these years.
That was why it was called Impure Essence, as the essence wasn't pure for him. During the time of purging away the essence, he must not feed at all. Hence he is fasting!
But it will not be easy, he will have to purify his body in different stages. The first stage was the easiest and it was of normal blood.
Zamright focused on making Impure Essence and forgetting about time until there was a knock. He looked around but no one answered the door, so he ignored it. But the knock came again.
And so he answered, it was an elderly man with blood-red eyes in a Floating City Guard Uniform.
"Mr Zamright Rite!" he called.
"Yes."
"Is this your servant?" Behind the man was Van Neem encased inside the transparent stone. There were also other guards holding him.
"Yes!"
"Did you give him this!" he showed the Impure Essence inside a glass box.
"Yes!"
The old man's face became stern and asked again, "How did you get it!" as he was asking the man saw there were arranged red coins on the table. Counting them they were about hundred and fifty.
"Is there a problem!" Zamright asked.
"Yes. This is an Ultra-rare Century Blood Coin and it's unmarked. We need to confirm who made it and who owns it!"
"I owned it and I sent Mr Neem to exchange it for me!" Zamright said.
"There are some protocols to follow and I want you to move away. I would like to search the room!" he demanded
"On what basis?" Zamright inquired.
"On the basis of having something you should not!"
Zamright turned and closed the door. It was a waste of his time conversing with these people. He has better things to do.
The old man didn't expect that to happen but nonetheless, he has his fair share of ignorant brat.
"Break the door!"
The moment Zamright sat, the room door was blasted away and the old man entered scrutinizing the room with an arrogant pose.
"Pack the coins and apprehend the bo…!" The man froze, a chill running down his spine as his eyes met with the pale pupil of his victim.
His brain stopped working and he just stood there. That also happened to the other three guards.
Crack!
Van Neem broke away from his shell and then snatched the device that encased him and broke it. They caught him off-guard that's why he was trapped.
"Go complained to the captain. If they will not do anything. We will leave and find a new place!"
"Yes. But Mr. Rite. This is the captain of this section."
"Go higher!"
It took about an hour before Van managed to call someone substantial. By then, people had already gathered and watched the frozen guards. Some were even asking questions.
There were other guards with weapons echoing orders that Zamright should come out and hand himself in but they were terrified to come close.
Soon, a young very lean woman walked with scary bodyguards. Her features were sharp and seeing her, the guards there and most of the people bowed to her.
