Kapitel 164: Chapter 164: Found

Father York paused for a moment, looking at the photos related to the so-called antique mirror, already forming a rough idea in his mind.

From the materials, it was clear that the antique mirror primarily used illusions as its method of influence.

Also, based on the descriptions related to Kelly Russell's father, one could conclude that it was a case of demonic possession.

This was a demon that came with its own illusions...

Father York silently put the documents back into the file bag, realizing there was work to be done soon.

Unlike the case with Bella's toy store, this severely adverse supernatural event, which spanned a great depth of time, could probably trigger a random mission with just a touch.

"Father, can these materials serve as proof?"

Kelly Russell's anxious voice sounded beside him.

Looking over, Father York saw her still baby-faced, tinged with unease, fearing he might refuse.

"Child, it's enough," Father York remembered her previous actions and exchanges, and in her widened eyes, he smiled warmly, speaking in a very affirmative tone.

"Once you find that antique mirror, I will personally take action, to seek justice for you and for those who died in the past."

...

In the end, Kelly Russell left with tears of gratitude, holding the file bag contentedly. She was going to an auction house to confirm whether the antique mirror she had located was indeed the same one that had caused harm in the past.

With Kelly Russell gone, Father York was left alone, glancing at the statue of Jesus. He smirked slightly before heading to a small room to continue preparing holy water.

Until his attribute points broke the thousand mark, the preparation of such vital supplies couldn't stop.

After all, his combat style was rather singular.

Whenever it was possible not to use magic or mental power, he would resolve battles with technology if feasible, saving resources wherever possible.

Whether it was dealing with an event, facing a boss, or fleeing, the approach was the same.

In the small room.

Father York casually picked up pure water, spreading sanctity over it to bless it. When the notification sound rang in his ear, the production of holy water was completed without needing to tap into the faith power accumulated by the Church of Pluto.

Blessing the water was convenient and quick, skipping many steps and saving time compared to the past.

After accumulating ten large bottles of holy water, Father York stopped the process and stepped out of the small room to continue his duties as a priest.

He conducted and participated in other religious ceremonies.

In the confession booth, as a guide for souls, he accepted the confessions of the faithful, offering them the guidance, encouragement, and comfort of a priest, helping them seek God's forgiveness and a new beginning.

It wasn't until the third day that things began to change.

"Welcome."

Dressed even more splendidly, Kelly Russell entered a hall holding an auction catalog, led by the staff.

Kelly Russell stopped at the entrance, letting people pass by as she scanned the room.

To her, a vast hall was divided into several sections.

The auction podium for the auctioneer's performance.

The display area, equipped with showcases, racks, and other tools to display the items' features and value.

And the bidder's area below, arranged with tables and chairs, already set with bidding paddles.

By then, bidders had already found their seats, making it a simple auction room where many hoped to acquire valuable items.

"Madam?"

Prompted by a staff member, Kelly Russell made her way to her seat.

She waited quietly as an observer until one item after another was auctioned off or passed.

Finally, when two staff members wheeled out a huge object covered with cloth, she straightened slightly.

"Okay, our next item is a very beautiful antique mirror, known as the Lether Mirror."

Hearing the auctioneer's words, Kelly Russell immediately focused, staring at the mirror still covered.

She couldn't ascertain its authenticity from the catalog alone; only by seeing it in person could she confirm if this auctioned item was indeed the same antique mirror from the past, for she had left marks on it.

"This mirror was found at the Wescott Estate, a treasure that has traveled the world. It spent years on the walls of Balmoral Castle, belonging to the royal family of Scotland. This mirror is the real deal, with its original glass and frame..."

As the auctioneer introduced the piece, Kelly's eyes were fixed on the staff slowly removing the cloth from the mirror.

Swish! As the cloth came off, everything about the mirror came into view for Kelly Russell. In that moment, when her gaze moved to the bottom right corner of the mirror, her initially calm eyes flashed with intense hatred.

"I've finally found you..."

Kelly Russell clenched her teeth, gripping the armrest of her chair.

"Ladies and gentlemen, as you can see, the mirror is very well preserved, with only a minor crack in the bottom right corner,

Despite this flaw, the mirror itself is very valuable. The frame is carved from Bavarian black fir, and the surface is smooth. We've set a very low starting bid of thirty thousand,

So, do we have thirty thousand..."

As soon as the auctioneer finished speaking, a man in the bidder's section raised his paddle.

"The gentleman in the front, thirty thousand, thank you. Any more?"

"This lady, forty thousand."

"…Fifty thousand, anyone else?"

"Seventy thousand…three, two"

Listening to the auctioneer count down, Kelly Russell raised her bidding paddle.

"This lady! One hundred and fifty thousand!"

The auctioneer's voice, filled with surprise, made the other bidders turn their curious gazes towards the young Kelly Russell.

"One hundred and fifty thousand! Any more?" The auctioneer's voice grew excited, particularly focusing on the man who had almost won the bid.

However, the man shook his head, choosing to back out.

The auctioneer, slightly disappointed, asked again, "Any more?"

Confirming there were no more bids, the auctioneer began the countdown: "Three, two, one!"

Bang!

The auctioneer hammered down: "Congratulations to the lady for winning the Lether Mirror at one hundred and fifty thousand."

Kelly Russell watched as the staff returned to the podium, moving towards the Lether Mirror. She placed the catalog and her bidding paddle on the table, ignoring everyone's gazes as she stood up and walked outside.

Amidst the astonished staff opening the door, she casually pulled out her phone from her purse and dialed a priest's number.

"Kelly?"

When the voice that made her unconsciously relax sounded from the phone, Kelly Russell smiled.

"Father York, I've found the antique mirror."
