Kapitel 260: Chapter 260: Graduation Exam

Monday morning.

Obito's biological clock woke him up automatically. After washing up and eating the breakfast his grandmother prepared, he got ready to head to the Academy.

Today was the Academy's final exam day. However, for Obito, this exam was different from any other he had taken before because this was the graduation exam. Passing it would result in receiving a forehead protector on the spot, signifying his graduation from the Academy.

"Obito, are you up? Today's the graduation exam, you know?"

Just as Obito was about to leave, he heard Rin's voice. He quickly put on his shoes and replied, "There's no way I'd sleep in today. I've already had breakfast."

Obito quickly finished putting on his shoes and went outside, where he immediately saw Rin, smiling and waving at him.

"I was worried you'd be late like on the first day of school, so I came specifically to call you. It looks like I underestimated you, Obito," Rin said with a smile.

If Obito were late for the graduation exam, Rin didn't know what the consequences would be, but she felt it probably wouldn't be good. So, she got up early to wash up and eat breakfast before coming to Obito's house to call him.

"I'm a man who will end the war and become Hokage. I won't keep making the same mistake," Obito said confidently, with his chest out and head held high.

Even if he encountered someone needing help today, Obito had a way to avoid being late. He could use Shadow Clone Jutsu to have a Shadow Clone assist the elderly, while he himself went to the school for the exam.

"So, does this mean you won't need my help in the future?" Rin asked, hands behind her back, leaning slightly forward, and looking into Obito's eyes with a light smile.

"Uh… well…" Obito stammered, finding it hard to speak. He felt that admitting he needed a bit of self-reflection was one thing, but saying he didn't need Rin's help was something he couldn't bring himself to say.

"This isn't the same thing. Even the Hokage needs the help of companions, just like how Senju Hashirama became Hokage with everyone's support. Of course, I need your help, Rin-chan," Obito said quickly, his mind racing. He suddenly recalled an example Mutsuki had mentioned and responded promptly.

At that moment, he was glad he had paid close attention to Mutsuki's lecture. Although he didn't understand everything, he had remembered it.

"Then let's hurry to the school," Rin said, looking at Obito's reaction, covering her mouth with a smile before speaking.

In reality, she had just been joking; she knew Obito would never say he didn't need her help.

"Yeah, getting there early means we can handle any situations on the way," Obito said, feeling relieved at Rin's smile. He nodded seriously.

"I wonder what the graduation exam topics will be this year."

On the way, Obito chatted with Rin to pass the time. Opportunities to walk together on the street were rare.

"Whatever Ninjutsu it is, I'm sure you'll handle it without any problem," Rin said confidently about Obito's Ninjutsu skills.

For the exam, Mutsuki specifically reviewed the basic Ninjutsu of the disciples who would be tested. Even Guy could perform decent basic Ninjutsu, while Obito was highly proficient.

"Haha, these basic Ninjutsu are much simpler compared to the Fire Release techniques Yumi-sensei taught," Obito said with a proud smile, his face reflecting his confidence.

The graduation exam had no theoretical component; it only tested basic Ninjutsu, and any one of the basic Ninjutsu taught could be used. Obito believed that no matter what was tested, he could easily score full marks.

"I wish every exam didn't have a theoretical part," Obito couldn't help but sigh.

Theory was his lifelong enemy. His nickname as the bottom of the class was due to his poor theoretical skills; in reality, he wasn't at the bottom in practical skills.

Because of his terrible theoretical scores, he had done countless practice problems and still faced ridicule from Kakashi for his poor theory.

"Once I become Hokage, I will definitely abolish theoretical exams!" Obito thought to himself.

But he soon realized something: when he became Hokage, no one would assess his theoretical knowledge, and no one would understand the hardships he had endured in school.

"Forget it, there's a reason for the existence of this exam. Let's just pay attention," Obito thought it wasn't right to simply deprive students of their theoretical exams.

Not only should the exams not be canceled, but additional practice papers should also be assigned to improve students' overall theoretical level.

"Obito, you can't stop learning after graduation. Didn't Kakashi mention that the Chunin exams also include a theoretical component?" Rin reminded him upon hearing Obito's words.

The mention of names and exams he didn't want to hear made Obito feel overwhelmed.

"Let's deal with future matters in the future. For now, let's just pass the graduation exam!" Obito said with a frustrated scratch of his head.

After thinking it over, he decided to leave future worries for later and focus on doing his best.

"Obito-san, Rin-san, good morning!"

At that moment, a lively and cute female voice came from behind them, accompanied by two male voices.

Obito turned around and saw a few students from Mutsuki's class, so he responded to them.

"Obito-san, why the frown so early in the morning? Even a strong person like you has worries?" Anko asked curiously.

After the last results were announced, the quality of Obito and Guy's missions shocked the entire Ninja Academy. This time, their reputation had spread across every grade, making them the two strongest at the Ninja Academy.

"Haha, it's nothing major. Just thinking about something that makes me a bit unhappy," Obito laughed lightly, brushing it off.

He didn't want his admiring juniors to know he was afraid of the theoretical exams.

"Perhaps this is the loneliness of being strong. Obito-san is invincible in the Ninja Academy," Hagane Kotetsu said with a melancholic expression, believing that Obito was experiencing the solitude of a master.

"Kotetsu, you've been reading too many novels lately. I think Obito-san is just reluctant to part with friends and classmates as graduation approaches," Kamizuki Izumo quipped.

"I have been reading a lot of novels recently and feel like I might mess up this exam," Hagane Kotetsu nodded, looking regretful.

"Now that you mention it, I've been playing games every day and haven't reviewed much. I feel like I'll do much worse than last time. I shouldn't let it be like this next time," Kamizuki Izumo also showed a regretful expression.

"Really? I've reviewed for three days, so maybe my score will be higher than yours?" Anko was a bit pleased, but her eyes still showed some doubt due to the past behavior of the two friends.

No matter how innocent and oblivious she was, being tricked repeatedly had made her wary.

"That probably won't happen. No matter how poorly I do, I shouldn't score lower than Anko," Hagane Kotetsu shook his head and said.

He felt that no matter how poorly he did, it couldn't be below ninety-five, while Anko hadn't even scored ninety before.

"Indeed, it would be quite a challenge to score worse than Anko. You'd have to avoid studying for two months straight, which is difficult in its own way," Kamizuki Izumo agreed.

"Ah, I knew you two were up to no good!" Anko, unable to hold back, chased after the two.

Hagane Kotetsu and Kamizuki Izumo sprinted towards the school, and once they were in the exam room, Anko dared not be reckless.

"Such wonderful friendship," Rin said with a smile, watching the three chase each other.

Hagane Kotetsu and Kamizuki Izumo were merciless with their words, while Anko's strikes were quick but not really forceful. Rin could see their good relationship; Anko's hits were more playful, and Hagane Kotetsu and Kamizuki Izumo were mostly joking around.

"It feels like I see the shadow of you and Kakashi in them," Rin said with a smile, covering her mouth.

Although their expressions were different, they were both fond of teasing each other.

"Not at all," Obito replied, shaking his head.

As they were about to reach the Academy, they ran into Guy, who was jogging.

"I've completed my half-hour morning warm-up! Now it's time to give my all for the exam!" Guy said with a bright, shining smile, giving himself a thumbs-up and laughing heartily.

"Yeah, good luck," Rin said, giving Guy a fist pump of encouragement.

Guy was the worst Chunin among Mutsuki's disciples in terms of Ninjutsu skills. His efficiency in learning Ninjutsu was very low, and his talent for it was rather awkward. However, having a little talent was better than none at all. After all, without any talent, he wouldn't even be able to learn Color of Arms. For Guy, even being a beginner in Color of Arms was considered an achievement.

"Guy, good luck," Obito said with a smile, encouraging Guy. Since the graduation exam didn't involve practical combat, they wouldn't be opponents this time.

"Yeah, let's all use our passionate youth to pass the exam," Guy said with a smile, giving Obito and Rin a thumbs-up.

Then the three of them walked into the classroom together.

They arrived early, so there was still some time before the graduation exam began, and most of the students hadn't arrived yet.

As soon as they entered the classroom, they attracted a lot of attention, mostly directed at Obito and Guy.

Guy and Obito had left after just a glance at their results, but they had left many legends within the Ninja Academy.

For example, the interactions between Obito, Kakashi, and Guy hinted at the fact that Obito and Guy had defeated Kakashi in combat.

Another example was Obito's two mysterious A-Rank missions. A Chunin sensei had stated that he had never done an A-Rank mission, making everyone curious about how Obito's team managed to complete such difficult tasks, especially considering Obito had mentioned encountering Jonin during those missions.

But since it was the graduation exam, which was crucial for becoming a Ninja, the students were quite serious about it. Only a few close to Obito took the opportunity to ask him questions, and there was no situation where students gathered around to discuss.

When the exam time arrived, the homeroom teacher of Class 4-2, Chitani Isamu, entered the classroom with another sensei from Class 4.

Graduation assessments are usually supervised by the sensei of the class, and the homeroom teacher must participate.

"Everyone quiet down, the graduation exam is about to begin. When your name is called, come with us to the adjacent classroom for the exam."

"This year's topic is Clone Jutsu!" Chitani Isamu announced the topic for this year's graduation exam.
