Kapitel 250: Chapter 250: The Upcoming Version Update

As the highest-ranking officer in the branch was easily defeated with a single strike and remained on the ground for a long time, the rest of the navy soldiers essentially lost their will to resist.

With no traitors among them, the transaction proceeded smoothly.

When Adrian left the G13 branch base with a box full of Beli, it was already close to the afternoon.

In the western sky, the bright yellow sun cast a soft light, illuminating the surrounding clouds in a brilliant yellow hue, as white seagulls flapped their wings overhead.

Due to the varying quality of the pirates in Jaya Island, coupled with Enel's rampage which resulted in many broken heads, the total bounty collected was barely around 400 million Beli.

But regardless, it was still a result of their hard work!

Adrian stored the box in Rumi's Castle and casually chose a direction, soaring into the sky and swiftly leaving the small island where the branch base was located.

Once in the high sky, Adrian took out a small white square from his pocket, resembling a piece of paper.

This was a "Vivre Card"!

A unique item in the ocean, the Vivre Card is resistant to water and fire, made from a mixture of someone's fingernail and special materials. It represents the life force of its owner.

Typically, people at sea create these cards and give them to relatives or friends before parting ways.

The mechanism of the Vivre Card is known to few. Based on experience, it shrinks when its owner's life force weakens and returns to its original size when the owner recovers. If the Vivre Card starts burning and turns to ashes, it indicates the owner is nearing death.

Pieces of a Vivre Card will attract each other, often serving as a "Log Pose."

Adrian used the Vivre Card as a guide to return to the small Sky Island, Weatheria.

Due to Weatheria's constantly shifting location, the Log Pose often fails, as the island moves to different places to gather various special climates. Strong weather disturbances can also affect the island's magnetic field, interfering with the Log Pose.

Thus, the Vivre Card is more popular on the small Sky Island for guidance.

The owner of this Vivre Card is still unknown; it was a guiding token given to Adrian by the meteorologists when he left Weatheria.

"It's quite handy!" Adrian remarked, fiddling with the Vivre Card.

In this ocean world filled with bizarre items, three types of Devil Fruits and various advanced technologies abound. But an item that can sense its owner's life force is quite magical, reminiscent of the "life plates" or "soul lamps" in cultivation fantasy worlds...

Putting aside irrelevant thoughts, Adrian raised the Vivre Card, scanning around. When it pointed in a certain direction, it emitted a faint glow.

"It really feels like a fantasy world!"

When the Vivre Card shone its brightest, Adrian put it away, aligned himself, and flew at high speed towards the indicated direction.

In no time, Adrian returned to Weatheria Island, thanks to his ghostly speed.

At the same time, Enel finally regained consciousness inside Rumi's Castle.

After cleaning up, Enel, pale and bandaged, was released from the Castle by Rumi's control.

"Master!"

Despite his poor physical condition, Enel's spirits were high, speaking with strength and confidence.

The battle at Jaya Island seemed to have washed away much of the bitterness and pain accumulated in his heart, making him appear much more radiant.

Adrian nodded slightly and took out a long time ago borrowed Armament and Observation Haki training scroll from Doflamingo, tossing it to Enel.

Enel clumsily caught the scroll and curiously asked, "What's this?"

"Training methods for Armament and Observation Haki. I haven't systematically taught you before, and now I have some matters to handle on the sea, so you can refer to this scroll for training."

Adrian spoke carelessly.

"Since you've already awakened both Haki types yourself, this scroll should be quite useful. Train hard, I have seen what you can do."

Adrian patted Enel's shoulder, handed over the bounty money collected from the navy base, and then disappeared.

He returned to the small Sky Island solely to drop off Enel.

As for sending Enel to the sea for training? Adrian had considered it but decided to hold off for now.

At least until Enel fully mastered both Haki types, he wouldn't be fit for the sea.

After a few months in Paradise, he could be sent directly to the New World!

And after several years of training on the sea, once Enel had honed his strength…

Only then would Adrian feel secure letting him return to the small Sky Island as a guardian!

"Should I find a sparring partner for Enel then?"

"I remember that Crocodile is probably gaining fame around this time?"

"A pre-downfall Crocodile... seems good?"

...

When he returned to the sea.

After months of isolation, Adrian finally received the overdue "latest news."

Unfortunately, Weatheria is too high up for News Coo to reach, and Adrian has no connection with the World Economic Journal.

Occasionally, when contacting Tommy, the other party wouldn't mention current events either.

As a result, he only now learned about a major event that happened some time ago.

"Golden Lion Shiki finally escaped?"

Reading the news, Adrian's expression was subtle.

Shiki's escape not only meant that this legendary pirate shattered the myth of Impel Down's impenetrability but also indicated...

A version update was coming!

The game's public beta began almost three years ago, right after Pirate King Roger's execution in Loguetown. The sudden appearance of the "Immortal Drifters" surprised the entire ocean.

However, upon discovering that these vagabonds' strength plateaued after reaching a certain point, many forces on the sea disregarded them.

Adrian clearly remembered that the public beta was set to last 822 days.

During the beta, there was no countdown reminder on the panel.

But calculating the time, it was about now!

"I wonder how long the time span will be for the 1.0 version update…"

"Logically, the 1.0 version's player level cap is 20, while the total level cap is 120. It shouldn't be too long, right?"

"It's unlikely to jump twenty years ahead and hope players can reach level 120 within the three years of the Chosen One's voyage?"

{Doesn't that mean that Tommy will be without army now?}

"Then again… without these silly players, won't my life also be affected?"

Adrian pondered silently.

His current strength was too far beyond that of ordinary players.

His daily actions weren't something normal players could participate in.

Only in situations requiring special cannon fodder did Adrian remember the player tools, like during the Ohara incident.

Then discard them after use…

"Hopefully, the version update will increase the player population."

"These Immortal Drifters with nothing but grind should be the best source of experience, so why is their presence so low?"

"Could it be that players and NPCs compete among themselves?"

"That's just ridiculous!"

{Immortal Drifters/ Undying travellers or anything}
