Kapitel 15: Chapter 15 - Hot or Cold

Hui Lang was dragged into the bathroom, hooves kicking and squealing in protest. The angel was giggling the whole way, happily pinching his soft hooves. "You're such a softie, softie baby..." Tian cooed, rubbing his cheek against the pig's fluffy back. Then, with a wrinkled nose, he instantly recoiled. "Ew, so smelly!"

Hui Lang snorted, frustrated. "No, you're the one that stinks! Your breath smells like pig slop!" But all that came out, as usual, were a series of indignant squeals.

Tian ignored the squeals and sprinted over to the shower, fumbling with the knobs. "I think... you turn this one, right?" he mumbled to himself, twisting it clumsily.

A blast of freezing water hit him like a truck. "AHH!" He screamed, jumping back and trembling like a soaked puppy. "What the—! I thought hot water was supposed to come out!"

Hui Lang, rolling on his side with difficulty, sneered. "That's 'cause you're an idiot! You turned the knob the wrong way!" He snorted out a spray of water from his snout in frustration.

"Tian? Everything okay in there?" Lu Chen's voice echoed from outside the door.

"The water's freezing!" Tian whined, shaking like a leaf.

Lu Chen chuckled. "Just turn the knob the other way. You need me to come in, or can you manage?"

Tian puffed out his chest, bravely stepping into the freezing shower again. "I got this!" He twisted the knob, and the water finally warmed up. "Ahh, that's better." But his relief was short-lived as the water suddenly turned scalding hot. "AHHH!" he shrieked, darting out of the spray, arms pink from the heat.

"You okay?" Lu Chen knocked again, a little more concerned this time.

"It's too hot!" Tian whimpered, hugging his reddened arms.

"Wait, I'm coming in!"

Lu Chen came rushing in, eyes wide as he took in the sight of a slightly pink Tian. "Did you get burned?!" he exclaimed, quickly grabbing a towel and wrapping it around the angel. The bathroom was like a sauna, steam swirling around them. "Shit," Lu Chen muttered, spinning the knob back to cold. "Come on, stand under it."

Tian shook his head, shivering. "It's too cold!"

"You burned yourself. Get under the water." Lu Chen didn't give him a choice, pulling Tian under the shower. The icy water hit, and the pinkness on Tian's skin started to fade. Gently, Lu Chen took his hand, inspecting it. "Does your hand hurt when I touch it?"

Tian shook his head, flexing his fingers as he watched the redness fade. "I heal really fast. Well, I used to. I wasn't sure if I could still do it, but I guess I can." He flashed a bright, relieved grin.

Lu Chen sighed, shaking his head with a small smile, running his fingers through Tian's wet hair. "You're still like an imaginative kid." He stepped back, giving Tian space. "Go on, take a proper bath this time. I'm going to change out of these clothes again."

Tian looked guilty, eyes darting to Lu Chen's soaked shirt and pants. "I'm sorry about that. Next time, I'll ask if I don't know how something works."

Lu Chen chuckled softly, waving it off. "It's fine. Just take your time, but be careful with that knob, alright?" He pointed at the shower controls. "Don't turn it past here. If you go beyond that, the water's way too hot to handle."

Tian pouted, furrowing his brows. "Why would they even add that setting? Isn't it too hot for humans to use?"

Lu Chen grinned, amused by Tian's confusion. "People use it to wash their clothes sometimes. It's not meant for taking a bath, unless you want to end up like a steamed dumpling."

Tian wrinkled his nose. "Well, that explains a lot." He gingerly tested the water with his hand, making sure the temperature was safe. "I'll be careful. I don't need to look like I've been roasted again."

Lu Chen smirked, heading for the door. "Good idea. Last thing I need is a crispy teenager on my hands."
