Maya sat at her office desk, staring at her phone. After Victor had called her, she was expecting to hear from him asking more questions, but a whole day had passed, and he didn't call. She checked her phone again, but there was no call or even a message.

"Don't worry, I'm sure they are having fun," Emily nudged Maya gently.

Maya smiled. "I know, just..." she muttered. She wasn't worried for the wrong reasons. She just knew Victor and knew that he hadn't stayed with a child before, and she thought it would be difficult for him to cope with Jason.

"Maya," Gabriel called, "I haven't seen your boss for the past two days, I mean after you both left the office in a rush."

Julian, who was standing beside him, asked, "They both left in a rush? Why?"

Emily stood up, trying to cover for Maya while stuttering, "Th-they had an emergency, um, client... no, investor..."
