Kapitel 236: FINDING SOLACE

Maya didn't stop running until she was sure she was all alone in her room. Her hands trembled as she held the bed sheets over her body. Maya tried to think straight, but it wasn't working at the moment. So many thoughts and emotions rushed in, making her mind go fuzzy.

"Maya...what have you done?" she muttered to herself. How was she supposed to look at Victor? She had just ruined everything. Maya pressed her lips tightly, her feet tapping on the floor nervously. She had never been so confused and overwhelmed in her life. She needed someone to talk to. She moved her hand on the bed, looking for her phone. But everything, including her dress, was still in Victor's room.

The telephone on the table stand rang, jolting Maya. She walked slowly towards it; maybe it was Victor. Maya didn't want to talk to him. What was she going to say? But the phone wouldn't stop ringing. Slowly, she picked it up, her hands trembling as she held the wire.
