Kapitel 10: Chapter 10

Dennis sat up upon hearing it, his brows furrowing.

"Are you kidding me?" His eyes narrowing. "I am not doing it."

"Why?"

"There is no reason. I don't want any blood to stain my hands." He stood up from his bed, starting to remove his clothes.

"You are worried about blood staining your hands, but you killed your father."

He paused midway through the motion of removing his belts. How could she bring that up? Especially when she knew she was the reason he ended up killing his father.

"Do you need to bring that topic up?" He continued doing what he was doing.

"Will you do it or not? I can send someone to do the deed."

Dennis could hear her frustration through the phone. As always, he is the one who normally does the dirty work for her.

Now, he can't believe he wants her to kill the one he loves.

"Fine," He hesitated.

He ended the call without waiting for her to say bye.

The next day, a gentle knock echoed on Yvonne's bedroom door, but she remained silent and chose not to answer.

"I am going to the company," Javier announced. "I haven't gone there in a while."

She didn't reply.

He continued, "Take care of yourself and eat very well."

Turning to two of his men stationed at the front of the door, he instructed, "If she wants to go out, let her go, but follow her at a distance."

The men acknowledged with a simple "okay." Javier cast a lingering gaze at the door for a few minutes before finally leaving the house. Outside, Dennis stood at the front, patiently waiting for him.

After he left, Yvonne called Helen and asked her to come to the house, a request to which she readily agreed.

Four hours later, Helen rings the bell, prompting the maid to answer it.

"Oh, it's been a long time." Jenny greeted with a smile. "You are here for Yvonne, right?"

"Yes." Helen nodded.

Jenny assured Helen that she would fetch Yvonne.

Helen sat on the big couch, her eyes wandering around the room. It had indeed been quite a while since her last visit.

As the maid went up the stairs to get Yvonne, Yvonne came down and asked the maid to bring orange juice for both her and Helen.

Helen and Yvonne embraced in a warm hug.

Yvonne took a seat beside Helen.

"Are you alright?" Helen asked with genuine concern in her voice.

"Yeah, I am." Yvonne nodded in affirmation.

"It's so sad your grandfather lost his life when you've been looking for him for so many years." Helen remarked, as she observed the change in Yvonne's facial expression, "But, let's not talk about sad things."

"Helen," Yvonne said, gently holding her hand. "Can you do me a favor?"

"What is it?"

The maid arrived with the orange juice, pouring it into glass cups. Yvonne patiently waited for the maid to leave before continuing.

Helen took a sip of the orange juice.

"Help me to escape."

As she was drinking it, the liquid spilled from her mouth, and she couldn't believe what Yvonne just said.

"I should help you to escape?" she said, pointing to herself. "From what?"

"From this house. I don't want to stay here any longer."

"I don't understand," she said. "If I remember correctly, both of you were lovey-dovey, so how come you want to escape from here?"

"I thought I knew him, but I was mistaken," she said, lowering her head.

Helen kept asking questions, leaving Yvonne with no choice but to reveal everything that had been happening.

She showed her the video, and Helen used her hand to cover her mouth. A mixture of shock and disbelief was shown in her face.

Helen collected herself for a few minutes before bombarding Yvonne with questions.

"Do you know that person?"

"No."

"Do you know why the person sent that video?"

"No, why are you asking?" she questioned.

"You don't know if that person has bad intentions, so why will you take what the person says at face value?" Helen questioned, her gaze fixed on Yvonne.

"I also think about it." Yvonne admitted. "My grandfather left the moment he learned about my sister's death. He didn't even attend the burial, and now that he is back, he got killed."

Helen continues to probe.

"So, do you have evidence that he killed your grandfather?"

"Isn't the video evidence?" Yvonne, responded.

"You told me he died before Javier stabbed him, so technically, he didn't kill him."

"How do you know he didn't kill him?" Yvonne was not ready to let it go.

Her uncertainty was felt.

Helen sighed, gently withdrawing her hand before placing it reassuringly on Yvonne's shoulder. "Yvonne, I know you are grieving, but don't blame an innocent person."

"Innocent? How?" she questioned, her eyes searching for answers.

Helen sighed, turning away from her.

"Anyway, I can't help you."

"Please, help me." Yvonne pleaded.

She shook her head.

"I am pregnant, and I don't want to raise the child in here."

Helen looked at her with her mouth open.

"You are pregnant?"

"Yes."

"If you are pregnant, how do you expect to survive?" Helen inquired, furrowing her brows.

"I don't care. I just want to leave here." Yvonne insisted. She held onto Helen's arm, tears beginning to build up in her eyes.

Helen gazed at her for a few minutes, contemplating before finally deciding.

"Fine, I will do it," Helen affirmed.

"Really? Thank you." Yvonne expressed her gratitude, tightly hugging Helen.

"Don't thank me yet until we are successful."

Yvonne smiled with a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

Helen understood the risks involved in agreeing to Yvonne's plan. She hoped fervently that Javier wouldn't discover their intentions.

"A boat will be better than a car or a bus because we don't know who among the people is working for Javier."

"Okay."

Helen glanced around, then leaned in to whisper in her ear, "Are you willing to kill?"
