It was a grim sight for everyone present. Aurelia had done what was promised, severing Kestons head to place on a pike, while Sergius lay pinned with three swords piercing his ligaments. Perhaps if he hadn't sacrificed his arm to save his son, he would have stood a chance or had even been able to escape. Yet fate did not leave him much choice. He had lost so much blood from Aurelia's blade and would be dead soon.
"No…" he cried one last time as Zariel drove severance through his skull and twisted.
"Can we go now?" Zariel asked, glaring at Aurelia admiring her work. He sighed when she gave no response before he stared at Sergius through the Weave.
He frowned then, observing the strings of fate coiling around him, connecting to various faces within the crowd. It was indeed a trap or, rather, an introduction. He knew Beowulf and Arthur, but the three others made his eyes narrow, curious if they, too, had experienced the Reincarnation Storm.
