Kapitel 36: Bratty Little Sister

After talking about the immortal creature that is the Bratva, the rest of the drive is spent in silence. It stretches on and on, and I keep thinking about what Dominik said. There's no excuse for being involved in that organization, but he's right. What if I was born into it? I wonder if they treat daughters any better than they do sons. 

Finally we approach a city. "Mad River?" Mad River isn't all that far from Winship Harte. It's close enough that I know of it and have seen it on a map.

"Is that okay?" He glances over at me for the first time in over an hour. "Do you know someone here?" 

"No, I don't think so. I just can't believe we were driving that much and ended up here." 

"Where did you think we were going?" 

"I don't know. Oregon?"
