Her father-in-law's voice had a skeptical tone as if he could read right through her annoyance. But what surprised her more was the happiness in Alonso's dreamy eyes, he sprung to give her a hug.
"How's your head?" The president spoke in a low tone.
The question seemed to catch Alonso off guard too. He let go of her and took a step back.
"…Oh, it's fine, thank you," she lied again. Her headache was killing her.
"Hm, that's good to hear."
Is he for real right now? Can he seriously not remember the argument we had in the office, or is he just messing with me?
The whole situation Natalie was in felt so deeply psychological that she had this dreaded feeling in her gut like watching some horror movie.
The president smiled lopsidedly, "That's good progress indeed."
