Kapitel 17: CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Casting a quick glance around his room, he searched for any potential means of defense or escape. But the barren walls offered no solace, leaving him feeling trapped.

They were relentless, "I don't know if it's silver bullets so I can't just rush in and expect I'll heal after taking a bullet".

The deafening sound of gunfire followed , tearing through the door like paper, hitting the the window, shards of glass exploding around him.

Focused and alert , he activates his were shift , still maintaining his human form, enhancing his speed, strength and reflexes.

His heart raced, and adrenaline surged through his veins as he sought cover behind the nearest wall as the wave of bullets tore through door.

"You two , stay here and keep watch as back up, you three follow me . We have him surrounded." A loud ,stern voice came as the door was kicked down.

Narrowing his eyes, Noah was able to assess the situation. He was going to have to take them out quickly as possible ,as he wasn't sure how many more they were , maybe hidden around the house.

He ducks his head behind the wall , narrowly avoiding the massive gunfire.

He looked around, evaluating his surrounding, the room was small so it was going to be difficult to navigate through ,especially with enhanced speed , but it also meant it would be hard for them to get a good aim.

As the bullets whizzed past him, leaving marks on the wall, threatening to break it apart, Noah burst out from behind the wall, his extraordinary speed allowing him to close the gap between him and his foes in the blink of an eye.

With each step, he shattered the floorboards under his weight, adding to the chaos. The gunmen, startled by his sudden movement, struggled to adjust their aim.

Seizing the opportunity, Noah struck with a deadly precision. He danced between the gunmen, evading gunfire with nimble acrobatics.

His fists and feet became blurs as he incapacitated one gunman after another, rendering them unable to continue the fight.

Without hesitation the other two outside rushed in , opening fire at his direction

-

Noah strategically aims for their weapons, disarming them one by one with controlled and calculated strikes.

His enhanced speed and agility allow him to move swiftly through the room, strategically incapacitating the remaining attackers while minimizing the risk of getting shot.

Hearing footsteps coming from downstairs as the remaining gunmen, sensing their impending doom, attempted to regroup and corner him.

He charged down stairs, using his environment as he swiftly maneuvers around the furnitures and walls evading the incoming bullets.

As word of Noah's prowess spreads among the remaining gunmen, they become more cautious .

Seeing an opportunity, Noah unleashes a powerful punch to the ground dis balancing them and blurring their vision as splinters from floorboard were scattered everywhere

Desperation seeped into the hearts of the surviving gunmen as they witnessed their comrades fall before them. Fear in their eyes, they launched a final, desperate assault on Noah. Yet, he seemed to move faster than ever, weaving between their attacks effortlessly.

His punches packed the force of a sledgehammer, his kicks landing with the precision of a master martial artist. The gunmen faltered, their weapons useless against his extraordinary powers.

The sheer force of his attack overwhelms the gunmen, incapacitating them one after another.

As the dust settles, Noah takes a moment to catch his breath. The house was silent once again. He checked his body trying to see if he sustained any unknown injuries.

He ensures all the gunmen are incapacitated and disarmed. Surveying the wreckage, Noah took a moment to center himself, thankful for his training and the power within him.

He glances at one of them who seemed conscious , trying to crawl away. Noah stood in his front, knelt on one knee and grabbed his collar , pulling him close to his face, showing his glowing eyes that sent shivers down his spine.

"Who are you? And why were you you trying to shoot me dead?"

"Ha! Like I'll tell you anything".

Noah was pissed but he tried to think rationally and keep his composure. He knows he wasn't going to get answers with force.

They couldn't just attack coordinated without a plot of some kind.

He sighed at the thought that , everywhere he goes, he always gets into trouble of some kind.

Then it dawned on him. A clue which was stagnant but yet, he failed to notice it.

He's house was unlocked but his mom and Nora weren't here.

With a slow and controlled tone , pausing, word for word, "Where.... Is..... My..... Family".

His widening to a barely controlled growl .

The man looked at Noah in his face, unwavering and not shaken by Noah's obvious indirect threats.

He knew this was getting him nowhere. Letting ing him go, Noah took time to search the whole house while the man sat there, not moving an inch.

Nothing.. Now confirmed, he knew these people had something to do with the disappearance of his mom and sister.

Barely able to hold his anger, Noah punched a hole in the wall. Who could do this ? , and why him?. His mind searched for clues that could give him an idea who this person might be.

Noah knew the importance of keeping a cool head in high pressure situations like this.

" Are they still alive or ...." , afraid to say the last part.

"Are you deaf kid, like hell I would tell you confidential information."

"Confidential? So you were sent , or better , paid to do this?".

He stared at the man who showed no sign of letting out any information.

He was going to have to do this on his own.

He forcefully reached into the mans pocket taking his phone.

"Give that back!".

Noah ignored him, going through the phone carefully not to miss any details.

He noticed a message.

He read it thoroughly , over and over trying to decipher it but it made no sense whatsoever.

#Saturn holds secrets, shadows dance beneath the ivory moon. Midnight strikes at a crossroad named Delta. Beware the lion's roar, it carries the weight of time#

He looked back at the man who had a nasty smirk at the expense of Noah's frustration.

What did any of this even mean? It sounded like something straight out of a detective movie.

It must be a clue of where they should meet up, whoever the person was who instigated this whole thing.

"Maybe I should call the cops, they'll have an idea what to do". Noah said wearily, his head already dizzy from overthinking.

"The cops believe you?! Don't be stupid. They'll have you killed if they know you're a wereshifter".

As much as Noah hated to admit. The man was right, he couldn't just turn to anyone. It had to be someone he really trust , someone who wouldn't mind at all.

He knew Aries was out of the option, not that he could call him even if he wanted to .

His mind wandered what could happen to his mom and his sister. They were in custody of people he had never met in his life.

He knelt down in front of the man, head down. "Please don't harm them, I'll do whatever you want ".

He couldn't bear it anymore. This was all his fault.

The man who was already laughing out loud stood up slowly, still feeling pains all over his body .

"I love my job... Not sure why the mistress would want me to kill a guy not older than my son but hey? Easy money for me. Ha ha."

Mistress?? Noah memories flashed back to the school during the attack , everything was slowly making sense . Linnea?!!. He remembered, letting out a gasp, with his head still bowed.

"Once I kill you, then we can let your family go"

Pointing the gun at Noah's head who stayed still.

Slowly lifting his head up, The man staggered in fear, tripping over one of his men and landing on his bottom with a thud.

Noah glared at him, bringing out his claws and stood up slowly , walking up to him .

"Linnea! She sent you! Where is she?!". His voice echoing through around the building.

Trying hard to keep his composure so as not to intentionally give out any information "I don't know what you're talking about". He stammered

Noah wasn't going to play this game any longer as he lifted him , clean off the ground, his stare reaching the very depth of his soul.

"WHERE IS SHE!!?"

Tension hung heavily in the air as the man stares into Noah eyes, sweat glistening on his forehead.

His eyes darted nervously around the room, searching for an escape, but there was none.

Noah, stern-faced and relentless, loomed over him, demanding answers about the whereabouts of his elusive boss- Linnea.

The man's heart pounded in his chest, his thoughts racing. He knew he couldn't hold out much longer.

"Look, I can't tell you anything , just stop asking me questions, please".

Noah was taken at his sudden change of character.

Then he continued, "Okay okay, I'll tell you a bit of what I know . But I'll warn you. There's nothing you can do about it "

He wasn't trying to mess with Noah this time.

Noah was really glad he was making progress

Just as the man was about to continue ,a sudden explosion occured as chunks of the man's body were scattered everywhere.

The man, unknowingly , had an explosive device implanted into him, only to be set off if certain lines were crossed.

Noah was left stunned, his questions now silenced in the aftermath of the blast. The room lay in pieces of flesh and blood everywhere, serving as a haunting reminder of the lengths this person was going to go to.

"No....."
