As the early morning was the best time to stalk predators preparing to retire for the night, Mordred left to do some hunting, leaving Leon behind to experiment. He hadn't imagined what had occurred that morning, so he was using stones, twigs, and other tiny objects to get a feel for interacting with the physical world using his phantom body.
"Come on, Leon...just imagine you're groping Mordred's boobs..."
Though it quickly returned to its resting state, Leon's utterance caused the baseball-sized stone he was pushing against to list slightly. After that initial success, the process became much, much easier. He failed to pick up the stone before Mordred returned carrying a boar nearly as big as she was, but if he focused and slapped it full force, he could get it to roll a bit.
"How's it going...?" asked Mordred, her body covered head to toe in sweat after she spent several minutes hanging the boar up to let the blood drain from its neck.
"See for yourself," replied Leon, choosing to roll the dice by rising to his feet and extending his hands to touch Mordred's breasts. She raised her brows in response but didn't rebuke him as she looked down to see her modest mounds deforming in response to his touch.
"I can imagine what motivated you..."
"Well, that's not the only reason," contended Leon. "Here, watch this..."
Following his words, Leon bent down and placed the rock and other objects he had been using into his Storage.
"It takes a bit of focus, but so long as I can touch them, I can place items into my Storage. Pretty cool, right?"
Nodding in affirmation, Mordred remarked, "You're becoming more useful. Now, while I search for mineral deposits further upstream, you can spend the day digging up and collecting clay."
Staying on the offensive, Leon smiled and countered, "And here I was, looking forward to another day of seeing you frolick in the water naked..."
Rolling her eyes but smiling, Mordred gestured toward the boar with her thumb and said, "I'm going to take a break before finishing up butchering that boar. Don't wait up for me."
Without waiting for Leon's response, Mordred headed for the cabin to grab a glass of water. He was tempted to follow after her, but as she had effectively told him not to, Leon observed her departure in silence before deciding to head for the river. He still recalled how exhausted Mordred was after the previous day's work, so now that he could affect the world around him, Leon felt compelled to do his part and carry his weight...

Reaching the section of the river where Leon was gathering clay, Mordred intended to surprise him, but it was her who was left slackjawed as nearly the entire bank had been excavated. When she looked in the direction her senses and [Instinct] directed, she witnessed cubic-meter sections of the bank disappear, leaving behind a smooth surface as they were ostensibly placed in Leon's Storage.
"You're a real monster, you know that...?" asked Mordred, causing Leon to startle as he hadn't sensed her approach.
Adopting a smile, Leon took it upon himself to explain, "It's similar to what happened to those trees you knocked down. I need to focus like I want to possess it, but I'm able to excavate upwards of 150 units of clay at a time. I tried doing the same with a tree, but I had to uproot it by excavating the soil around it first."
"In other words, all that work I put in yesterday was meaningless..." said Mordred, her expression morphing into a deadpan.
"..."
Not sure how to respond, Leon remained silent until Mordred cracked a smile and teased, "You're way too sensitive. I enjoy moving my body and hitting things, so if you were planning to apologize, don't. Instead, come with me. I found some decently sized boulders covered in rust about an hour's march from here. They were way harder than ordinary boulders, so they must contain metal."
"I definitely wouldn't mind walking with you for an hour, but I should be able to teleport to or at least near the stones if you can provide a proper heading," replied Leon, opening the Assign tab and staring wide-eyed as he saw how much ground Mordred must have covered.
"I guess I shouldn't be surprised," said Mordred, causing Leon to tense as she approached and turned her back to him. He instinctively wrapped his arms around her, causing her to tilt her head back and bump his chin, but instead of addressing the fact he was embracing her, she pointed toward the northeast, stating, "It's that way..." in a subdued tone.
"Should I try teleporting us both...?" asked Leon.
Narrowing her eyes slightly, Mordred countered, asking, "Is that not why you're holding me right now...?"
"Maybe I enjoy holding you..." Leon muttered, putting enough strength into his arms to leave slight indentations in Mordred's skin.
"Even when I'm encrusted in sweat after scouring the jungle the entire morning...?" asked Mordred.
"It makes you even more appealing..." replied Leon, lowering his mouth to Mordred's exposed shoulder and giving it a lick.
"You truly are a deviant..." mused Mordred, closing her eyes and enjoying the tactile sensation of Leon kissing and licking her shoulder. She was still a bit reticent after what happened that morning, but after 'experimenting' on her own, she realized that the thing that startled her wasn't something she should dread. It was an experience nearly as thrilling as battle...
With Mordred offering no resistance, Leon tentatively attempted slipping his hand into the fabric of her loincloth and incredibly scant panties. His efforts throughout the day paid off as a gap was formed between both as his fingers probed her sweat, moist, and incredibly hot vulva.
Opening her eyes and glancing down at the front of her body, Mordred felt a prominent sense of incongruency seeing the fabric of her loincloth and undergarments make way for Leon's invisible appendage. She didn't stop him, but the notion he might be some middle-aged creep compelled her to ask, "How old were you when you died...?"
Though he hadn't anticipated the sudden query, Leon answered, "Twenty-seven...?" with a bit of inflection to turn it into a question.
"Hmmm...I guess that's not too old..." muttered Mordred, placing her hand over Leon's to encourage him to keep his fingers moving.
Since the subject had already been broached, Leon figured he might as well seize the opportunity to ask, "What about you...?"
Causing every nerve in Leon's non-existent body to tense and his brain to stall, Mordred deliberated for several seconds before responding, "I won't go into the specifics, but my physical and mental development was sped up using a combination of alchemy and black magics. Chronologically, I'm around eight and a half, but physically, I'm closer to twenty..."
"..."
"What's wrong...?" asked Mordred, tilting her head back to stare at Leon even though she couldn't see his face.
Regaining a bit of his mental faculties, Leon resisted the urge to remove his hand from Mordred's panties as if he had just touched a hot stove and replied, "You're much younger than I expected..."
"Not really," rebutted Mordred. "As I said, my development was sped up using magic. Though, even if it weren't, would it matter? Before my death, I spent five years leading men into battle against the Saxons. If you even think of talking down to me, you can forget about touching me for the rest of your miserable existence..."
"We may not have known each other for very long, but you should know by now that I would never look or talk down to you..." said Leon, resuming the movement of his fingers. He was certainly surprised by the revelation of Mordred's chronological age, but if he remembered correctly, there were a number of characters in the Fate franchise with questionable ages and origins. One in particular, a Homunculus named Irisviel von Einzbern, was impregnated and canonically gave birth within a year or two of her inception. However, because she was a MILF and inherited thousands of years of knowledge from her family, the fandom was more critical of her 18-year-old daughter being a heroine in the original visual novel because she looked like a loli...
Though she could tell Leon was being sincere, Mordred disentangled herself from his embrace and said, "Anyways, we shouldn't be fooling around while it's still light out. Hurry and gather the metal we need to assemble a forge, Workshop, or whatever it is called. I'll return to our encampment to check on the meat and pelt I hung out to dry."
"Then I guess I'll see you back at camp," replied Leon, not bothering to point out he only had a vague idea of where the boulders were located. His thoughtless words and actions had clearly ruffled the golden-haired girl's feathers, so he figured he should focus on the task entrusted to him while she cooled her head and unwound back at camp.
Nodding in response, Mordred leaped up the fairly steep embankment and departed toward the clearing. Leon watched her depart and then, rather than teleporting away, jumped into the river, now twice as deep after he excavated the sediment from the bottom. His entrance failed to produce a splash, but if an outsider were to look closely, they could see the faint outline of a person resting on the river's bottom...

After choosing to return to camp on foot, arriving just before sunset, Leon's gaze was immediately drawn to the sight of Mordred, wearing only her tube top and thong-like panties as she swung around a large wooden sword. She was clearly in the middle of training, so he elected to sit on a wooden stump and observe from a distance while simultaneously taking stock of the construction materials in his possession.
Wood 8,403
Stone 6,710
Clay 10,492
Metal 2,371
Food 29
'Nice. With this amount, I can construct and upgrade the Workshop and the cabin...'
Before moving forward with the construction, Leon separated the metals that could be used for currency, such as gold, silver, and a few grams of platinum, from the rest. He knew they would eventually need something like a monetary system once their group expanded to the size of a small village or walled city, but even if that wasn't the case, many of the more advanced appliances in the Build menu required gold and other precious metals, presumably for things like circuit boards and microchips.
"I was starting to believe you got lost," said Mordred, approaching Leon with her oversized wooden sword resting on her shoulder. She was once again caked in sweat, but since he had claimed not to be bothered by it, she stabbed her sword into the ground and forced Leon to make room for her atop the stump.
"Did you manage to find those boulders...?"
"And more," replied Leon. "Here, check this out..."
Pulling out a thumb-sized, unrefined ruby, Leon presented it to Mordred as he said, "Red appears to be your favorite color, so I thought you might like it."
"..."
While holding the ruby up to the dimming sky, rotating it between her fingers, a mischievous grin adorned Mordred's face as she revealed, "My favorite colors are green and yellow, like dandelions and the fresh buds of Spring. But I suppose I can be magnanimous and forgive your ignorance, just this once..."
"My, how generous of you..." replied Leon, tensing as Mordred leaned into him. She had apparently forgiven his earlier gaffe, as, before he could say anything further, she remarked, "The sun has nearly set...attend me in the bath, and then we can continue where we left off previously..."
"Music to my ears..." replied Leon, punctuating his words with a kiss to Mordred's crown. He would have liked to kiss her lips, but since it would probably be awkward for her, given his lack of a face, he figured it could wait until he acquired a physical body. At least, that was his intention until the beautiful blonde raised her face, parted her pale pink lips, and closed her eyes...
