Kapitel 6: Brutus
Back when they were just five years old, Olly and Brutus first crossed paths. Brutus, the towering mix of saber-toothed tiger and ancient bear, stood at an impressive 20 feet tall. Despite his intimidating stature, Brutus was all brawn and no brains, with a heart of gold and an insatiable appetite. He may have been a bit dim, but he made up for it with his unwavering loyalty and fierce warrior spirit.
Olly, on the other hand, was a cunning and adventurous soul, always ready for the next challenge. At first, their encounter was marked by a bit of a showdown, each trying to assert dominance. But after reaching a stalemate, they forged an unbreakable bond and became the ultimate dynamic duo. Together, they ruled the savage lands with their unique blend of strength and silliness. However, tragedy struck when Brutus fell in battle against the king of the savage lands. Despite Olly's tough exterior, losing Brutus hit him hard. It took time for him to come to terms with the loss of his beloved friend.
After years of separation, Olly's past grief still lingered, manifesting as a mixture of joy, nostalgia, and a tinge of sorrow. Yet, before he could fully process his emotions, Brutus pounced, engulfing him in a bear hug that nearly crushed him against the grassy ground. "Get off of me, you're squishing me!" Olly protested, though a grin betrayed his true feelings. Despite his words, he relished in the warmth of his friend's embrace. Tears welled in Brutus's eyes as he squeezed Olly tightly, confessing, "I missed you so much, brother." In this touching moment, Brutus's genuine display of emotion revealed the depth of his affection for his dear friend.
After their heartfelt reunion, Olly and Brutus decided to catch up on lost time walking slowly together in the forest. They stumbled upon a hidden clearing filled with ripe berries, and with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, Olly challenged Brutus to a berry-eating contest. The competition quickly turned chaotic as both friends stuffed themselves silly with the delicious fruit, laughing uproariously amidst the berry-stained mess. As the sun began to set, they collapsed in contented exhaustion, their bellies full and their spirits soaring.
"Soooooo....did you also get yeeted here after falling off a cloud you were napping on?" suddenly asked Brutus, while diverting his gaze from Olly as his friend fixed him a deadpan stare still lying on the ground from berry overload.
"Sigh...nah I just got here after I died, found myself in this wimp body too, I actually just got in this world like a few hours ago."
"Wow really? Me too.... Well I didn't actually get a wimpy body but it's still a lot weaker than the one I had, even using the technique you taught me this body didn't have enough materials to upgrade it with it. Hm...I'd say I'm in the lower levels of the savage lands, but I keep feeling this strange energy inside me, like I can use it to change my age and size or something, but it's too weak right now and I don't think I can do anything else with it".
"..." Despite his friend's ludicrous statement, Olly didn't look surprised but merely raised an eyebrow, curious about the possibility of Brutus having a mana core as well and intrigued by the conditions and possibilities this provided. He didn't doubt his friend's statement as Brutus, despite being dumb with everything, was a genius of training and combat (kind of like "Son Goku"). He also felt something weird happen to his core when he met Brutus, like his mana core could connect with Brutus's but it needed a medium like maybe...
"Hey big guy, could you make a small wound on your paw?" Olly suddenly asked, biting his own hand and making a small wound, dripping some blood.
Despite being confused, Brutus still did the same, trusting his brother without a second thought. When their hands touched and blood mixed, something unbelievable happened...
