“I’m so glad that you’re playing today, Joker.”
The man said in English, to which Joke quickly nodded.
“I hope we have a good game.”
He spoke politely while reaching out to shake hands, as the ceremony dictated.
“I hope your team’s recklessness won’t result in you flying back home earlier than planned.”
The other party didn’t immediately accept his hand. Instead, he intentionally spoke in a mocking tone.
Of course, Joke had no intention to respond. He remained quiet, with a soft smile on his face.
“Hope my friend didn’t beat your rookie so badly that he turned dumb?”
Finally, Aaron took his hand. He moved his face, which was plastered with a wicked smile, closer.
“And I hope that boy won't lose his head when he sees me win this match.”
Clearly, he was playing mind games right before the duel. There were both provocations and mocking.
But Joke still smiled as he lightly shook their clasped hands.
“Thank you indeed…that it’s you.”
