Kapitel 181: 181

Lucy grabs Lisa by the collar of her sweater, lifts her up, and slams her against the wall. "Damn bitch, you tricked me. You exposed my brother again to your scientific madness. I should gouge out your eyes so you can feel what Lincoln must go through in three years."

"Believe me. I feel really bad for what I did three years ago. And you never stop reminding me."

"Since then, my goal has been to restore Lincoln's sight."

Lucy drops Lisa to the ground, then calms down. "Fine. Suppose I believe you. What will happen to Lincoln now that this has started in his veins?"

"It may be effective and cure him. Or it may not do anything for him. If he doesn't get his sight back tomorrow, we'll have to do more tests and optimize the dosage."

"I trust you, sister. Leave me alone now, please. Get out of my room."

Lisa complies and leaves the room, leaving Lucy alone.

The goth sat on her bed and hugged her pillow. "I hope you're doing well, Lincoln."

In the grandparents' house,

Lincoln kept thinking about what happened in the car.

The boy went up to his room and laid on the bed when the phone in the living room started ringing.

"Shhhh. When you're away, the damn phone starts ringing." Lincoln gets up and answers.

"Hello?"

He hears an adult male's voice on the other side: "Hello. Am I speaking to any of Miss Leni Loud's relatives?"

"Yes, yes. I'm her brother," Lincoln put on alert.

"Okay, Mr. Loud. This is Dr. Cornwallis. I'm reporting from Olympo Hospital, where we have your sister under observation."

"Leni? Did something happen to Leni? Is she okay? What happened?"

The doctor had to interrupt Lincoln: "Calm down. She's fine. In fact, better than ever."

"She just woke up."

Lincoln opened his eyes wide, and a smile spread across his face.

"Hey? Mr. Loud. Are you there?" The doctor is waiting for an answer. After a minute's silence, he heard a scream of joy that forced the doctor to lift his ear from the phone.

"Ohhhhh. Hell Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh. Leni's fine." Lincoln recovered from his excitement and spoke to the doctor again. "I'm sorry. I'm very happy. I'll give the news to my family. Thank you, Doctor." Lincoln hangs up the phone, then jumps on the couch, lands on it, and begins to jump. "I have to go to tell them the good news."

Lincoln ran to his parents' house. He was so excited that his senses were on high alert, allowing him to elude passers-by while performing parkour stunts.

He finally arrived at Loud's house.

Lincoln slammed the door and opened it.

"Mom, dad, girls. I have great news!!!" Lincoln's enthusiastic announcement was interrupted by silence, interrupted only by sobbing, "Huh, what's going on here?"

In the room, all the Loud sisters were gathered, including Luna and Luan. Lori was sitting on the couch, crying.

Lincoln approaches his mother. She was sitting next to Lori, comforting her.

"Mom, what happened? Is that Lori crying?" Lincoln sits next to Lori and says, "Lori, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Lori sees Lincoln. She had mascara running down her cheeks from crying. When she saw her brother, she hugged him and continued crying on his shoulder, "Lincoln, it's Bobby."

Upon hearing the Latin boy's name, Lincoln separated from Lori to be face-to-face. "What? What happened to Bobby? Did he do something wrong?"

Lori wiped the dark marks of wet makeup from her eyes and answered in a broken voice, "He... died."

Which shocked Lincoln. "What?! When? How?"

"The police found the remains of his car at the bottom of a cliff. On his way home from college, he passed a sharp curve in the road. At this point, there was a brake failure. He lost control, and..." She was silent when she finished telling what happened. The girl hugged her mother and continued to cry.

Lincoln leaned forward, placing his hand on his forehead. This can't really happen. The boy he considered his big brother was gone forever. "When are they going to bury him?"

"The day after tomorrow," Lori replied.

"We all go, right? I want to be there for Ronnie-Anne."

"Yes. Thank you, little brother. Ronnie-Anne will definitely be happy. By the way, what did you want to talk to us about?"

"Oh. Well, you see. This morning, I got a call from the hospital. Leni woke up."

The family looked at Lincoln and surrounded him, even momentarily forgetting when they heard those words.

"When did Leni wake up?" Lana said.

"I don't know. They just called me."

"Wait. Why didn't they call us?" asked Mr. Loud.

"Professor must have given them the ancestral house number in case she woke up; surely he knew I would answer. This guy is so tight; he's scary."

Lynn takes Lincoln by the neck, hugging him because she is very happy with the news. "Good. What are we doing standing here? Let's go see our sister."

After bringing Albert and Myrtle, they went directly to the hospital.

When they arrived, they introduced themselves as Leni's relatives. Dr. Cornwallis told them they could only see them one by one, except for parents and grandparents, who can enter in pairs, for only five minutes each.

In Leni's room,

Her parents were the first to enter.

"Hello, dear," Rita greets her daughter.

"How are you, princess?" Her father greets her.

"Hi mom, hi dad. I feel good. It was the best nap I've ever taken." Leni looked in all directions in confusion. "Wait. This isn't my room. Where is my stuff?"

Messrs. Loud saw each other. The doctor had previously explained that Leni would not remember what happened the night of her incident due to the effect of the pills. They both decided it was best not to tell her.

"You had an accident at the party. A very bad one. You were in a coma for a few days." Rita tried to smooth the news over and omitted the details of the incident.
