Kapitel 52: Husband-to-be

"Where have you been?" Maxwell glared at Charrisa, his voice stern and disapproving, the moment she stepped into the sitting room. "I told you not to keep our guest waiting."

But he trailed off as he turned back to face the man, only to find Charrisa's eyes fixed on the man with a look of shock and disbelief. The man's gaze was equally fixed on Charrisa, his expression unreadable.

"Is there a problem?" Maxwell asked, his panic rising but he got no reply.

"Hey! We meet again," Charrisa said regaining her composure.

"The pleasure is mine, Charrisa," the man replied but his eyes still holding a hint of surprise.

As Charrisa turned to her father, her eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of suspicion in her voice. "Is this...the man, Dad?"

Maxwell's expression was curious, his eyes darting between Charrisa and Romano. "Yes, this is Romano Wesley. Have you perhaps met him before, Charrisa?"
