Kapitel 76: Am I dead?

When I opened my eyes again, I found myself in a place where everything was black, and I was not in an infirmary. I looked around, and everything was pitch black. There was no light, no sound, no smell, no sensation. It was like I was in a void, a nothingness. I felt cold and numb, and I wondered if I was dead.

I screamed at the top of my lungs and saw my voice create ripples in the darkness, like echoes in a cavernous abyss, before something that looked like a door cracked open, spilling forth a blinding light. It was a bright, white light, and it seared my eyes.

I squinted and tried to see what was beyond the door, but I couldn't make out anything. It was too bright, too dazzling.

"Am I dead?" I whispered to myself before stepping toward the door. Once inside, the door slammed shut with a resounding thud that echoed through the emptiness, startling me. I turned my head and saw what I'd call a clone, this person was me, except that she was bound by chains.
