"W-wait!" Emily interjected, holding up a hand. "Don't! Don't be violent to your own friends like this..!"
She stuttered and waved her hands when he looked in her direction. "I-I mean...don't do something like this just for me....!"
He blinked once and then frowned thoughtfully for a second. "Ah...I suppose so. Maybe I got carried away."
He set the other fae down.
The fae rubbed at his throat and ruffled his feathers to smooth them out once more.
Merwyn immediately ignored the little fae, not even bothering to look at or inspect the creature as he made his way back to sit down at the table near Emily, where he'd been before.
Just like that, his baleful temper was gone, and the room returned to a cheerful mood as if there were no fighting at all in the first place.
If any of the fae were at any point disturbed by Merwyn's show of brute force, they seemed to already have moved on from it, as it seemed fae were wont to do.
