Kapitel 212: Sleeping Alone

Skyla blinked at her hand which he still lovingly held in his firm grasp and then her bewildered eyes shifted to him in a mixture of shock and confusion. Her mouth was wide open, and a shiver made its way down her spine.

His wife?

Was she even capable of fitting into that role again? She repeatedly questioned herself.

That part of her seemed to have been broken. That sacred bond had been destroyed for her.

But that expectancy in his eyes, how was she to drown it in disappointment?

"I…," she was lost for words. He understood that.

"Take your time, my love. Take the whole night and the next day and the day after that. I am in no hurry." No traces of doubt or urgency could be detected in his voice. He was a patient man indeed.

"What if I am never ready? The word 'wife' causes me anxiety and to enter into that role again." She slowly shook her head as if trying to forget all the bad memories attached to it.
