"Little missy, there you are. Don't run away like that," a woman's soft voice had her turning her head and glancing in that direction.

"I am just sitting here, madame. This boy is sad, I am making him happy," she chirped like a morning bird, bright, beautiful and happy.

Her madame cast a dubious look at the boy but his tear-streaked face and desperate eyes told her he didn't mean any ill will.

"Come, we should go home now." The elder woman still ushered her towards herself.

"No, I want to talk to him," she stubbornly answered and the woman sighed before settling on the bench behind them, keeping an eye.

The girl triumphantly turned away from her and focused her attention on the boy. She tilted her head, slowly smiling at him.

"So why were you crying? Did you lose your toy?"

He had no toys, such frivolities had no place in his household according to his mother.

"No."
