(Bruce POV)
I get out of bed and get to work. I have to get the monitor that monitors my vital signs back running before someone comes in. The TV would also be a good idea but who knows who might be watching from there. So better to leave that one alone for now. The radio is also up for excavation.
I make my way to the door and lock it. If someone comes in, I'll just say that I wanted to change and didn't want anyone to see me naked. Now on to the monitor. I open up the lid and get to work. It's quite easy in fact. I wonder who built this, it's so basic. I should create one for myself. Having to deal with this ... is revolting. It feels like I am forced to eat normal food after having tasted Sōma Yukihira's cooking.
After about 3 minutes the medical machines are in their previous state and work flawlessly. In fact, it works better than before, at least for now. I added a little something that will make it go up in flames after I'm gone, to make sure that no one finds the improvements and that I was behind them. Now I should try and do the last thing before I go back to bed and wait for the night to come.
With the upgrade I made to the monitor and the other machines in the room, I was able to take out some of the parts that made them. So this can now be used to make something ... that will help me get out of here very quickly.
I use some of the paper that's lying around and quickly draw something on it, to make it seem like something a child made. Then I do a little bit of this and ... some of that ...

(Talon POV)
"So the Wayne boy survived. Good, we can still use him then. How is his mental state right now?", the Court member asks me.
"He is unfriendly. He tries to keep people away and doesn't trust anyone anymore. I can see deep trauma in his eyes and some detachment. It was an obvious act he put up that quickly fell when he asked me how the Butler Alfred Pennyworth was. He is malleable right now, we could use that.", I say.
"I see. However, we will NOT approach Bruce Wayne right now. He is not ready to see the bigger picture and it might even backfire if we rush things. So we shall wait. Keep us updated for any progress.", the Court Member says and stops the communication device.
I still think that it would be good if we took him under our wing when he is this young and we could groom him to be the perfect version of himself and be of use to the Court in controlling Gotham.
But their wish is the law and I shall not approach the young Wayne heir for now. I should try and get closer though. The last time we talked I was able to make his facade crack and now I can continue to wear him down until he trusts me enough to talk with me openly.
I make my way to his room. I open the door and see him on his bed looking into the void with uneaten food and the TV remote control lying in front of him.
"Bruce? How are you? Did the nurse bring you the medicine?", I ask him with a gentle voice.
His empty eyes try to focus on me but ... he doesn't manage to do that fully. I can see the pain he is feeling right now. It seems the facade has cracked sooner than later. How though? I look around and try to figure out what happened in the time I wasn't here.
Food, TV remote ... I see. The old nurse was here ... she must have talked with him and made him drop his act by showing him kindness. How unfortunate ... I wanted to do that. Maybe I can use that though. If I kill her, he'll probably break down even more. Then the Court would be able to completely reform him from the ground up.
I'll see what I can do.
"Yes ... she brought the meds..."
"That's good, Bruce. If there is something, please don't hesitate to ask me.", I smile at him.
He doesn't say anything except one word.
"Alfred?..."
"... He's still not out of danger but I can tell that he's getting better. I'm confident that he'll make it Bruce.", I try to lift his spirit. That makes the fall much harder later on when he realises that I lied to him and that his butler has been dead all this time.
"W-would you ... give him ... this?", he asks me and holds something in his hands.
I walk over to him and take it. It is a small pin similar to a brooch but with something that looks like initials on it. How sweet, he wants to give him hope ... well that could be useful.
"Sure I'll gladly do that Bruce. I'll make sure he gets this.", I say and then leave the room
.
After walking around the corner, I think about it and decide that it would make more sense for me to make sure that others see what happened. If I show all the nurses that Bruce Wayne trusted me enough to give me something like that then ... I would be seen as someone he has trust in. I could use that and have it grant me some privileges when it comes to deciding which doctor gets which patient. Then I could stay close to him for the time he's here.
As for this ugly pin ... I better get rid of it.
I go over to a bin, take the pin in my hand and throw it in the bin. However, I suddenly felt pain in my hand. I turn around my hand only to see that the pin has pierced me with something. I have to use some force to get it out ... but without luck because just as I am about to take it out I ------------

(Bruce POV)
I sit in my bed and look at the watch on the wall. The door to my room opens and the 'doctor' walks back in.
"Close the door.", I say and he listens to me.
"You took longer than I calculated. 17 seconds longer to be precise. Haha, imagine that. An assassin of ... probably high renown gets outplayed by a 10-year-old child. Well it was an unfair fight, I admit that. But it is still my win.", I tell him.
I was impressed at the way my own brain worked. It was a masterpiece of nigh limitless potential. I had just created something that should be considered impossible with my current materials and age.
"A mind control pin ... quite good if I do say so myself. Not optimal but considering the circumstances... it should suffice. Now since I don't know how long this lasts, let us get a move on, shall we?
First off, state your name, occupation and the reason you are here.", I command him.
"Alton Carver, Talon for the Court of Owls in Gotham. I was sent here to observe the boy, Bruce Wayne and see how his mental and physical conditions are.", the now-revealed Alton Carver says in a monotone voice.
I can see some resistance. Interesting, he must have gone through extensive training to be able to resist my device like that. But it won't help him it should still work for the next couple of hours and that is all I need. He will become my inside man in this shithole. Don't work harder, work smarter and steal resources from your enemies.
"All right. Now be a good slave and get me what's on this list. Be sure to not be seen and get any attention to yourself when you do so. Some of these things aren't that mundane to dismiss as normal. Although most are, it would still be strange for a 10-year-old patient to have these things in a hospital room.
Ok? No go."
"Y-yes.", he says and then leaves the room.
.
I had this plan since the moment I saw the fake doctor for the first time. I was wondering how I could get to my materials and other essentials I might need when I was confined to my bed. Dealing with the things I wanted was easy, but to do it from my hospital bed and when someone was watching me was a small conundrum.
So this was my plan. It was efficient and easy. Well relatively speaking. So I took the little, this medical device had for material and built a mind control pin.
I knew that he would not give it to Alfred if I told him since Alfred was dead. So I programmed the pin to pierce him and use the connection it had with his blood to take over his mind. He tried to appear as the good Samaritan but was a snake. That's why I knew that he would either get rid of it or use it for his benefit. Either way, I would profit from it. How predictable.
.
I noticed how much of a cheat intelligence of my level is in this day and age. I mean it is close to 1970 and I am here creating mind-controlling devices and now a flesh-healing substance.
Alton had returned to my room in the night, just as I told him ... well I didn't tell him. It was just that he was following my orders of not getting any attention. So he decided to come back during the night shift. How he explained his overtime ... was none of my concern. I don't care about that.
No, my concern was the materials that he brought me. I didn't ask for much as there wasn't much I needed right now. I just wanted to have some of the materials to: 1 improve the mind control pin, as I would still need that at the moment. 2 I wanted to create the beginning of my computer. Information was power and that was something I would start with right away. That is also why I didn't kill the Talon but used him.
And finally, I had to prepare for something that I would use once my Uncle Philip came to pick me up. That was essential because he was sure to be contacted now that I woke up. Meaning he would be here tomorrow at the latest.
Everything else could come later.
.
I began with the technology that I would use on my Uncle tomorrow. The only thing I had to make sure of was to get a situation where he and I were alone in a room. I guess I can do it after we leave the Hospital. Yes, that is the right choice. Better make sure to tell the Talon to follow suit and help me subdue my Uncle for the procedure.
It doesn't take that long to do what I have planned. I only have to make a transmitter and a receiver now. After that, I am done with this.
Now on to the mind control pin. I have better materials now. Some electrical devices from all around the hospital. This was better than what I made out of the small radio and the medical device. It should take even less time than the other thing I prepared for my Uncle.
.
Finally, after working for about 3 hours, I am finished and put it on Alton. His resistance stops in that moment and I can see that ... it is real. I check his brain waves with the detector I also made and see that he is in a REM-like state.
Very good. That will give me ... a few weeks, give or take. No. More than that. Although if I factor in the man's training and willpower ... yeah a few weeks will work well.
Now the last thing I have to do is to hide all evidence.
