Arrows brushed against the city wall, igniting flames all around. Even as the skin of the monsters blistered and festered, they seemed not to feel any pain, desperately climbing upwards.
Aze started to get nervous as he saw they were about to get over the wall.
Something wasn't right today.
Just as one worries about something only for it to happen, while they were throwing fire bombs downwards, a monster had sneaked up behind them unnoticed.
Feeling a sudden pain in his lower back, Aze turned pale, clutched at his back, and collapsed to the ground.
Tattered strips of cloth fell to the ground. Seemingly puzzled, the monster looked at its palm, noticing that aside from the torn fabric, it hadn't grasped anything else.
In the next instant, it snapped back to its senses, but before it could swipe its claws again, Aze had grabbed a spear from the side and thrust it into the monster's eye socket.
The dark red blood was especially sticky, oozing very slowly.
"Disgusting."
