Alexander held onto her hand the whole time, pulling her through the halls to the dining room where he knew a late meal had been laid out for them.

It was not the main dining hall she often shared with all of her husbands, but a smaller, cozier one.

It made enough sense to her - not only was it closer to the throne room, but if it was just the three of them, that more grand hall wasn't necessary.

Rather than a long table, this one was square, and there were no windows in this room, though it felt cozy rather than stifling due to the cute and elegant decorations scattered throughout it.

Alexander guided her to one of the seats and sat down next to her.

Once seated, he continued to hold onto her hand, stroking her palm and knuckles gently with his thumb.

His touch felt reassuring, helping settle her nerves somewhat.
