"What are you going back in there for?"
"We heard your earlier conversation with your mother."
Everyone stood at the entrance of the hospital room, their faces filled with disappointment.
"You heard it."
The girl sounded slightly surprised, but quickly regained her composure.
And then she gave a nonchalant smile, "Since you already know, let's just forget it. No more pretending. I'm coming clean."
"What you heard was all true."
Fannie Patton bit her lip hard, her eyes burning with rage. "Loretta Bray, you... you've gone too far! We tried to help you, and you deceived us like this?"
"This is deception? You're just plain foolish."
Loretta Bray reveled in their misfortune, her face beaming with delight.
"You... What have you made of our feelings for you?" Fannie Patton was too angry to make sense.
"Heh, you have feelings for me?"
Loretta Bray burst into laughter, shooting a cold glance at Fannie Patton. "Fannie Patton, stop your nonsense."
